Before anyone gets it, make sure it can do what you'd like to do. If, for example, you want to transfer your address book to your car or to your Mac, make sure they haven't disabled that function.
mkjellman said:if you guys look closer you will see that this phone is actually thinner than the RAZR, which is already really thin. So this is no not the best, and no not good enough for me to get rid of my 710a from Sony Ericsson, but it does look lightyears ahead of the ROKR.
Bad Beaver said:I wonder how come you Americans willingly take all that BS from your cellphone service providers.![]()
Bretm said:No it's not. It's like twice as thick. What are you looking at? And the RAZR isn't very thin imho either. Just because it's a huge phone it LOOKS thin, but only in relation to it's enormous width and height. It's basically just as thin as my old nokia gsm and motorola v66.
ftaok said:For those complaining about Apple working with Moto and not the other cell phone manufacturers. Moto was the only one who wanted to work with Apple. Nokia has pretty much linked themselves with Microsoft. They signed a deal with Microsoft shortly after the Moto/Apple deal was announced. If you're waiting for Sony-Ericcson to have an iTunes phone, then you'll be waiting a long long time. Well, at least until Sony cries uncle and gets rid of Sony Connect. And Samsung is too much in bed with their Napster/WMA connections to offer iTunes.
I do think the ROKR is underwhelming. But there's plenty of fault to go around. Moto should have put it on a better phone. Apple shouldn't intentionally cripple it. And Cingular (at least in the US) should have put their foot down and demanded a better phone.
Hopefully, the ROKR's apparent lack of success (I say apparent because I've read where the ROKR had pretty good sales in Europe) won't kill off future products.
For what it's worth, I'm thinking that you won't see iTunes on anything other than a Moto phone for the next couple of years.

You can get the ROKR for free from Buy.com after rebate.Lord Blackadder said:I like the new Moto phone, but I always get the cheapest (read: free) phone available because I don't want or need any more functionality than the ability to make calls.
Being a business and all, that's pretty much what they do.Stella said:Sold themselves out.

aarond12 said:I will stick with my Sony Ericsson K750i. No it doesn't support protected music files from iTunes, but it does support the AAC MP4 files that iTunes rips to by default as well as MP3. (Probably ACTRAC3 also but who cares?)
The K750i also has an autofocus 2MP camera and can accept a Memory Stick Duo Pro up to 2GB!
You can also compress 3GP and MP4 videos and play them back on the K750i.
Hey Moto! GET WITH THE PROGRAM! You are not even close to the competition!!!
