I don't understand what's the hold

One thing about apple I hate, They do this on purpose to cause hype or just make you fork out the $$$.

Rediculous.....server failure due to overloading....sux but not on purpose....
 
No consolation for those still waiting, but I checked in for my code shortly after ML went live, it arrived within a few minutes and worked fine. So the issue isn't affecting everyone.
 
Just talked to apple support. All of the users who got the "this code has already been used" error should get an automated email from apple within 24hours with a new redeem code
 
It's been 24 hours here and still no code. :'-(. I just want to use AirPlay the way it was meant to be used.

Nothing at all from Apple. They really should consider not using a high school intern to plan their software updates. In 2012, I cannot think of one reason that Apple shouldn't provide an instant response for the code. And if they can't they should at least provide an email explaining what the hold up is. Amateur hour.
 
I'm not a big conspiracy theorist but if this and the iPad smart case are a indicator of things to come, I may have to sell a few shares.....
 
You type it in to the redeem field in the Mac App Store, just as you would with a gift card code. As soon as you hit enter, ML starts to download immediately.
 
I just re sent my up to date claim in case I typed the serial number wrong (I didn't get an error the first time though). It accepted my serial again, and I typed it exactly the same (auto correct finished it for me).

I tried resending mine after 36 hours and it wouldn't let me, saying the upgrade for this serial number has already been submitted. I too feared I had entered it in incorrectly, but apparently not ......

still no redemption code. :(

Weird.

They just sent me the email announcing the operating system. They're just toying with me now...
 
I finally got the code, about 34 hours after submitting the request and it even is for Mountain Lion, not the server version. :)

I will eat my last words. I just got the emails. Now to download! I forgot that my new motherboard doesn't have dual ethernet and I don't have a switch, so I guess an adhoc network will have to do.
