Mind you, I don't know Russell Crowe, and I so I don't have a lot of basis for saying I don't like him. From what I've seen in interviews and the like, however, I get the impression that I wouldn't like him all that much. I also remember the Academy Awards from several years back, when Steve Martin was the host and made some joke at Russell Crowe's expense; the camera quickly cut to Crowe and he had a really sour look on his face (i.e. he didn't appreciate the joke). The fact that he took himself so seriously really rubbed me the wrong way.

Having said that, I've really liked most movies I've seen him in. A Beautiful Mind especially, but others as well.

I still haven't seen the Life Aquatic but I'm sure I'd probably enjoy it.

It's a slightly odd, meandering, whimsical and silly (in a good way) piece that doesn't go for heavy slapstick or cheap laughs... I liked it a lot despite its flimsiness. Excellent cast and soundtrack, too.

Mel Gibson in South Park's "The Passion of the Jew". By the way, I love South Park and wish the Simpsons were still like they used to be.

Actually, there's another one. I don't like Nicholas Cage, but I found National Treasure absolutely (and unintentionally) hilarious.
Aww, man. How can you people be hatin' on Nicholas Cage? :p

He's one of my favorites.

I can't stand Owen Wilson but I really liked The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore and Bottle Rocket. So basically any of the Wes Anderson films he appears in. I still haven't seen the Life Aquatic but I'm sure I'd probably enjoy it.

Why did I have to read this three times until I realized you wrote "Owen Wilson" and not "Olsen Twins"? I just didn't remember them being in any of those movies.

A little off topic, perhaps, but have you seen what he's called his baby?!
Wow, no, I hadn't seen that. I knew he was a big comic book fan, but that's some pretty serious devotion.

Well, I didn't say he wasn't a nut job, I just said he was one of my favorite actors. ;)

You seem to have pretty good taste or at least that's the impression I've gathered from seeing your posts around the boards. By taking your opinion into consideration I'm almost positive I'd enjoy it. :)

I have no clue as I assure you the Olsen Twins are not on my list. However I can't say I dislike any of their films as I haven't seen any of them. :p

I would have to second (or third?) "Minority Report" hate Tom "Xenu" Cruise

"American History X" and "Fight Club" - I don't know why but I hate Edward Norton

"Pulp Fiction" - Hate Travolta, hate Uma, like Jackson, Willis, Walken, and, Rhames

I wanted to name a film with Johnny Depp, but then I realized I didn't like any of this movies.

Less hatin' more lovin'

Bad Santa with Billy Bob Thornton. He was great in Sling Blade too.

Sin City with Mickey Rourke.

On a slightly different subject, I heard David Cassidy is a real prick in person.

Nicholas Cage in The Rock

I hate the way he says 'Oh Gosh!' in those strangled tones...
I haven't seen The Rock, but I dislike Cage as well and liked Lord of War.

He was pretty good in Life Aquatic, man that movie made me laugh, just completely stupid sh*t all the way through. Big Bill Murray fan though, probably why I liked the movie even more

The Lethal Weapon series is very good. I watched Forever Young multiple times. The Patriot was amazing (although it gets boring after you see it for the 12th time). Conspiracy Theory is a classic. Did I forget any? Ransom wasn't bad, and I'm sure there are others. You're missing out on some pretty good movies if you write off all Mel Gibson films.

Really? I can't stand him either. The movies you mention aren't films I would have seen anyway. I tried to watch "Signs", but it was just so awful.

I can't stand Keanu Reeves...
For all though Keanu haters (don't hate him, don't think he's a good actor, though I loved the Matrix series) I would suggest to watch The Gift. He plays a complete creep in it so you can hate him for it (he actually does a pretty good job of acting in it too, IMHO).

Completely agree with both of these, Billy Bob appears to be such a freak in real life, but christ, I couldn't stop laughing from Bad Santa, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, "Jesus Christ... You F**kin With Me Kid!?!"

Russel Crowe, Tom cruise and Mel Gibson are gits, having said that i liked most of their movies. Haven't seen most of the new ones by them, i don't go to the movies any more but since i got foxtel i have been watching a lot of old movies, now they are good when actors/actresses could act

At first I thought Dances with Wolve's because of Costner. But then I stopped myself because I loved Waterworld, Tin Cup, 3000 Miles to Graceland, and Robin Hood.

Then I was going to say Julian Poe for Christian Slater, but again 3000 Miles to Graceland, Broken Arrow, and Robin Hood were great.

Then it was The Woodsman for Kevin Bacon, but I enjoyed Apollo 13 and Murder in the First.

So then came Cold Creek Manor for Stephen Dorff, but man, Dueces Wild and Entropy were some great movies.

But I think I got it. I think I finally got it. Rumble Fish. Matt Dillon. But damn, Rumble Fish was ****ing great.

Aha, i've thought of one: Hugh Grant in Bridget Jones' Diary.

I CAN'T STAND HUGH GRANT... he's a bumbling public school ****! As for that film... i'm really not a huge fan of Bridget Jones but as a 20-30-something London bird it's compulsory viewing. and mildly entertaining.

Does the UK have some hatred for public schools I don't know about? I went to public school. Is it different there? Sorry to get off topic, but this intruigued me.
