Does the UK have some hatred for public schools I don't know about? I went to public school. Is it different there? Sorry to get off topic, but this intruigued me.

in the UK "public school" is a posh fee-paying school, such as Eton, Harrow etc, as opposed to a school open to all the public... a lot of people take the piss out of public school 'toffs'.

--- sorry, no offence intended to anyone!! ---

Nah, no offense taken, just odd that's all that you would fault someone for going to public school, but it seems public schools there are different than here.

He was pretty good in Life Aquatic, man that movie made me laugh, just completely stupid sh*t all the way through. Big Bill Murray fan though, probably why I liked the movie even more
I really enjoyed the Life Aquatic... so much so that I bought the sound track.

I hated The Life Aquatic. The movie was too asinine for me. I guess it was due in part that I watched it at 3 in the morning and was really sleepy at the time.

Nicholas Cage, by far my least favorite actor.

Tom Cruise, some of his earlier performances were great, but they are so clinically perfect now.

Jim Carey, annoying.

Josh Hartnett, one dimensional.

Sean Connery, constantly playing himself.

Nicholas Cage is the only actor who is likely to make me not see a movie he is in, unless the movie looks really good.

I wanted to name a film with Johnny Depp, but then I realized I didn't like any of this movies.

i always wanted to hate Johnny Depp but never could quite pull it off.

Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing, Ed Wood...oh and Private Resort ;)

Actually, there's another one. I don't like Nicholas Cage, but I found National Treasure absolutely (and unintentionally) hilarious.

The first Nicholas Cage movie I ever saw was Raising Arizona, which is hilarious, but I despise everything else he's been in (never seen National Treasure though, or heard of it for that matter...)

A couple others off the top of my head... can't stand Cher but I like the movie Moonstruck (hey, that's another Cage flick, too!) Also strongly dislike Shelley Duvall, but love The Shining and all of her annoying traits are precisely what made her perfect for that role.

ND

I cannot stand Gwyneth Paltrow, much less begin to fathom how she has sustained a film career - she is a wet dish rag. But Se7en is one of my all-time favorite flicks. Fincher is just the man.

Oh, and what's all this about hatin' on Edward Norton?

I may be the only person who likes Nicolas Cage.

I like his movies: ie. Adaptation, Face-Off, Bringing Out the Dead, Matchstick Men, The Family Man, Windtalkers, and National Treasure.

His schtick is cool. He can get pretty intense in his scenes.

Johnny Depp is creepy.... Willy Wonka anyone? But he was freakin hilarious in Pirates.

I was actually quite suprised that no one mentioned Harrison Ford. I know some people who despise them. It think they're retarded though, he's freakin Indy and Han.

Nothing to Lose - Tim Robbins, can't stand him. "Don't kill me freaky Jason" "Ah no, your one of those head killer mother ******s"

The Matrix, The Replacements- Keanu Reeves "whoa", "Wild Stallions" Every time he opens his mouth, he sounds like a dumbass.

Black Hawk Down - Josh Hartnet..... nuff said.....

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them right now...

Although he has a few weird quirks (he seems to bob and shake his head alot) I like him.

Speed - Sandra Bullock
Austin Powers - Mike Myers

All I can think of now..

Annie Hall - Woody Allen

so a "public school" is, in fact, a private school? You Brits and your humor-er- homour- I just don't get it ;)

Costner, every time, waste of bloody celluloid....

I liked Tin Cup though...

I like Nick Cage, 8MM and Wild at Heart were great movies, he's a little limited but he uses it well.

Tom cruise really ticks me off too, he's just so crap, but The Last Samurai was a good movie despite him not knowing which end of a Katana to hold.

i'm in the minority (a tiny one) that like kevin costner movies. dances with wolves was great. but even the recent ones... open range was decent, i liked the postman a lot. need to rewatch waterworld...

tin cup was definitely funny, though a bit cheesy romantic of course

best actor has to go to Clint Eastwood , he is awsome in any of his films
Dirty Harry , and any of the westerns he was in

I despise Julia Roberts but love 'My Best Friend's Wedding' and 'Erin Brockovich'. Poopy poopy poo.

That's the first thing that came to my mind too. I think Julia Roberts is a really bad actress, but I like most of the movies she's in.

Costner emotes about as convincingly as a doorknob. Stoic is an understatement. The only exception is Silverado, one of my all-time favorite westerns.

I like Cage, too. I'm just not real sure why.

Gotta agree with you on Cruise, too.

Damn, WinterMute, next time you're in Maryland  we'll have to get together for movie night. :p

The Usual Suspects, Se7en, Goldmember -> Kevin Spacey

He kind of freaks me out which is fitting for some roles, but just plain odd and disturbing in others. Strange little man.

Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Sum of All Fears -> Ben Affleck

Many more but I lack the spare time to braindig for them.

Costner was in Silverado? <rushes to find old video copy>

How'd I miss that one?

I love John Cleese as the sheriff...:D

You're on, next time I'm in Maryland.... :p

If you find yourself in London, we'll hit Leicester Square.
