At least in the thread about the CES trade show being in person in 2022 the situation was better (at least yesterday). Some discussion of covid is unavoidable given the context but there were openly covid denialist posts and childish hit and run troll posts and at least some were removed. Did not look at that thread today.
(I am not American and intentionally avoid the news threads even indirectly related to US political/social issues so I have no first hand info on those.)
