Why all the U2 hate? Don't like them, don't listen to/buy them. If any Apple device comes preloaded with an album (which I doubt) then delete it (hopefully possible!).

But don't tell me that a preloaded U2 album is a deal beaker for you to buy the iPhone 6. That's childish.

And I like the posts suggesting that we will see Beats integration (maybe this has been worked on for a while even before the acquisition?) and new (higher quality) audio through the lightning connection.

Looking forward to the event.

Wow, it's like christmas. I think I've waited the same amount of time for both new U2 material and a larger screen iPhone. Win win.

Absolutely, because some of us don't care to pay $10 for crappy 256kbps songs when we can get lossless versions on CD for the same price or less and rip them at higher bit rates for portable players and keep the lossless versions for home.

...and listen to them on earphones where you can't tell the difference.

oh c'mon, U2 was bearable in the 80's, after that it went downhill and now he's downright annoying.

If he shows up during the keynote, I have time to get myself a coffee.

...maybe a duet with dr. dre...*gasp*

Please no! Please! I can't handle the hype and excitement around this event, iWatch expectations and Flint Center coupled with Apple's execs constantly saying there are great products down the road, best pipeline Apple has ever had in the last 25 years being all just U2; most overrated thing in the world. This event has to live up to mu expectations and debut the watch. And no, I don't want u2 on my new phone.

Aww why could it not be some "real" musicians like Deadmaus or Avicii or skrillex. Not some old guys who play their own instruments and write their own songs....

/S

The interesting thing to me would be if this marks the official starting point to the end of non digital music. This has been coming for years but still today any big artist that has a new release you can go out and find it on CD. Fan or not a fan of their music would still be a pretty big deal if U2/Apple announced that they only way to get new U2 moving forward is digitally. No CDs. No vinyl.

CDs are digital, man. But I see what you're saying ;)

An album preloaded on the iPhone? What is this, Microsoft?

Windows 95 days? Hahahah not impressed with anything U2 since Zooropa but if the album does come preloaded, I won't delete it. Also reminds of of the old iPod relapses when U2 was involved in the commercials. Not so surprising when you remember the past.

I don't think any U2 album will be pre loaded on the iPhone. If they want to give some music for free they can let you download it from iTunes, so everyone's happy.

If U2 are involved it will be for a short gig after the keynote.
Last year Elvis Costello performed a couple of songs on stage, then the presentation was over and press guys were finally able to put their hands on the new phones. This year we could have U2, that's pretty much it

I don't really understand why they would build an external stage with limited seating when the main Flint Center auditorium already has a large stage, and good acoustics. Still thinking that building they are constructing is a fake home for HomeKit demo.

I hope so.

Good move for U2, not a great move for Apple, U2 really? #headuparse

What a way to launch their new album..obviously got great music advice from Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine..

Anyone remember when the first versions of iTunes came with preloaded music?

I don't think so. When you buy an iPhone 6 you'll probably be able to download the album for free from iTunes, Just like iWork. That way more customers can try iTunes and U2 gets more downloads. Win-Win.
