M4 Mac Mini
When playing back music it crackles and pops constantly on high notes. I've tried MP3s and ALAC files. But only over a wired connection, bluetooth is fine. If I play those same files in VLC or I stream from Youtube over a wired connection, everything also sounds fine.
So this is a problem speciflcally with the music app and a wired connection. I even decided to hook up my Zoom H4N through USB and used that as my soundcard and I get the same results as a wired connection out of the Mini's headphone jack. So it's definitely an app issue.

Any idea what is going on?

I also tried to kill the coreaudio service and restarted the app and that didn't solve it either. I'm guessing this is a bug in the music app.
