Good.. maybe by then we can all stop laughing. Seriously, I appreciate your wisdom, but you're telling us that you know all the specs, you know what's going to be released, you know what it looks like.. you know everything... except what it costs?

As soon as you got pressed on price you backed away... the next time we'll see you on this forum is when there's another major event and you create a new account and enlighten us again.

I am not in a position to give more anymore specific information until Sunday evening. I think I have posted as much as is necessary to clear up some of the wide spread confusion.

Since you appear to be posting the same information in multiple forums, I will pose my questions to you in these forums as well.

To be making the bold claims that you are posting here, I think it's reasonable to ask for some sort of substance to back up your claims. "I just know" or "there was a leak" or "I can't tell you right now" simply does not cut it.

If you went on these threads and said, "I THINK this is what MIGHT happen", then that would be different, but since you're claiming what you're saying is gospel and 100% absolute fact, I think it is reasonable to ask for more information before anyone takes you seriously.

Please back up your claims, provide us with some more substantial information and the members of this forum might take you a little more seriously. If you do not provide more information, avoid these questions by saying, "That's all I can say for now", or simply ignore this post, I can gaurantee you that most members will see that as a sure sign that you are indeed not as informed as you claim to be, and your credibility will be next to zero.

I wonder if Steve will continue to favor the Mac faithful on the West Coast like he did at WWDC. There he gave every attendee an iSight. If I remember correctly that got a preview CD of Panther at MWSF '03. Wonder if this year it will be a Mini iPod.

Just wish that Steve would treat us equally here in the East.

Developers pay quite a bit of money to attend WWDC - that's where he gave away the iSight and the Panther preview. That's not slighting the east coast, that's rewarding developers for working on the mac platform.

Maybe Apple has found a way of giving reasonably large storage and low price but given their love of margins I doubt it. Something has to give - either it ain't $100 or it ain't multi-GB

I remember when the superdrives were first introduced. The standalone drive sold for 5k before Apple bundled them, then they came in a 3.5k G4. So - what sth costs NOW doesn't always tell you how much they can sell it for in a Mac (or an iPod in this case). Imagine IBM ramping up their production of those microdrives already..

People...

I see now that I am going to get no respect for the information I have, if I don't at least hint on how I get it. I will admit now, to being a lowly apple store employ. I hope nobody expects me to reveal which one...for crying out loud! However, I will say it happens to be close to MR. Jobs heart. Cheers

Hi NeatGekko,

I suggest you edit this post asap - if it's true, then you may be risking your job, as I recall another Apple Store employee was dismissed for breaching an NDA last year. It's not worth it.

(although I'd be suprised if this type of information has got out onto the shop floor already...?)

I just wanted to say that I was by no means doubting your claims, I was just saying I think requesting some additional information is a reasonable request since you are making such bold statements and treating them as fact. I am not saying I disbielieve you, but I hope you can understand mine, and others', positions on this. I think a leak to an Apple employee can definitely happen, it's just that 3GHz G5s, etc., you have to admit, is quite an aggressive thing!

Thanks for your concern

Thank you for your concern, but I am fairly confident(with all factors being wieghed in) that my job is not in jeopardy. If I was worried about that I wouldn't have posted, would I have? A lot of the information I have given isn't of a grossly specific nature either.(as stated by several forum goers;) ) Maybe if I had posted pictures and a photocopy of the price sheet I would be in a position to be worried. Also, this information was not specifically given to or "oeverheard" by any one employee. :) Doubt they will fire the whole staff because of this post. Hopefully this gives credit to the information I have posted, albeit not being that specific. Cheers

Just so u know, one of my uncles close friends who used to work at a little apple reseller got fired for posting a few messeges on a mac rumor forum (the messeges did not even give out info) i forgot the site, im pretty sure its not applerumors.com. So be very careful, if they find out you have posted ANY messeges then you could very easily be fired.

News flash: Jobs leaks product info to "lowly apple store employ"

WARNING! SARCASM ALERT! THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS ELEMENTS OF SARCASM THAT MAY FLOAT RIGHT OVER THE HEADS OF THOSE LACKING SUFFICIENT ANALYTICAL SKILLS. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Yeah, NeatGecko's story is actually starting to make sense to me, too. After all, it isn't as if our buddy Steve is paranoid about protecting new product info, right? I'm sure that story about the retribution for the ATI leak was just an urban legend. Who's to say Steve wouldn't "accidentally" cc an e-mail to NeatGecko, as a reward for his faithful service in the Apple Store? Yeah, I can see it now. Steve was thinking, "You know, I've been overly protective of these stupid iPod specs. It's high time I loosened up. Just for fun, I'll send them out to my buddy NeatGecko and see what happens. Won't this be fun?" And of course Steve will be taking him out for a decaf latte after the keynote, so they can share a few laughs over all the disbelieving morons on the MR forums.

Yeah. I can see it now . . .

Who said it was an e-mail?

Who said it was an e-mail? Who said that I got the low down from Mr. Jobs anyways? I most certainly did not. And you are right, the notion of me getting any info. from steve at all is quite ridiculous..surprised you would even think that... *smiles*

Note that I have added a SARCASM ALERT to my previous post.

Did you also think I was seriously suggesting you were Steve's buddy?

Yeeeesh. *vomits*

Can you enlighten skeptical MR followers, NeatGekko, as to why 'Sunday evening' makes any bit of difference?

If what others have suggested is true -- that you're really an Apple retail store employee who seems to have violated your NDA -- it appears that you wouldn't have much to lose by actually sharing docs on the rumored mini. You might already be out of a job. :(

I'm guessing that many skeptics could be pacified with such info -- even enlightened more than we already have been! :D -- since "a picture is worth a thousand words."

Totally agree. hopefully MW Boston will be somewhat like MWSF

hmmmmm just a thought

Is it just me or does it seem like apple (and friends) hold a lot more meetings and shows and such than microsoft does?

I know that microsoft has a annual(i think) developer confrence.

My memory's a little foggy, but wasn't Keynote the giveaway to attendees at last year's keynote?

What a great idea to give away rumored minis to every keynote attendee. I hope there's one with my name on it :)

Just wish that Steve would treat us equally here in the East.

I can't wait.. I'm headed West to MWSF to see!

I know for a fact they tell you not to post in Apple rumor forums. That IS subject to fire-ing. I know some places are ok to post, but this is not one of them.
