To be fair, the OP didn't actually ask for any help...

and finished the post with a comment some might interpret as a snide jab at Apple.

So I'd cut folks a little slack. Plus this place is pretty well overrun with smart-alecs (myself included) so there'll usually be a fair bit of kibitzing and other useless chatter.

As for me, that definitely seems to be an issue that needs a visit to Apple. Doesn't seem at all like something simple. Particularly since the OP knew enough to try to reset the SMC I'd guess he or she tried the other available options.

I see these forums as another form of the review process. A new product comes out and several people post about the same problem. I take notice. No different then going to Amazon and reading reviews before I buy something. They may sell a million widgets, but if there are 100 reviews with the same reoccurring problems I am definitely going to take that into consideration when making a purchase. Especially a purchase that costs thousands of dollars.

@throAU: I am not saying that products from US have a perfect quality control. I just want to say that taking into consideration extremely high Mac prices they should be assembled in US. When we buy american guitar from Fender Custom Shop or Taylor or australian Maton we want to have something authentic with top notch sound, workmanship and quality with keeping mind that luthier has a good job. Win win deal and now high price can be reasonable explained - cost of labour hour of australian luthier, wood selection etc. Paying $5, xxx for iMacPro make profits mostly for Apple HQ and Foxconn HQ. This is not a fair trade.

The Mac Pro and iMac Pro are built in the USA if i'm not mistaken?

And this is why they are even more ridiculously priced.

For sure.

However one single report is nothing to be crying about the sky falling just yet. Like i said there is always a failure rate.

If we see this same thing repeatedly in the next few months, THEN get out the pitch forks. Right now is too early...

For me i dont think its a "sky is falling" scenerio. Im not that loyal to any one product that pitchforks would be needed. If Apple were to offer a faulty product and sales plummeted i dont think id lose any sleep over it. Id just buy something else.
