2. Voice search seems quite good but when I tried it out on the Friends show like their example "find me the Friends Ep with Brad Pitt" it finds it but takes me to the single season version which I don't own.. I bought the box set so i'd still have to do a manual search when looking for box set episodes.

It's done this with me. I bought each season of house seperately, but the artwork shows the Series 1-4 boxset. I think it's just the Apple TV pulling any artwork for the show.

Seems an update to the Remote app should have been out by now.

What do you mean Photos is a bit crap? Can you set a photo album that is on Photos on a computer on the network (not synched to icloud) to be the wallpaper? Similar to how you used to be able to with iPhoto on the ATV3?

I'm sure they'll iron out kinks as the weeks go on. Photos as is just shows shared libraries, I'd rather it showed my full iCloud photos and offered the option to set any that you didn't want on there, it'd be quicker and easier.

I'm still in the office so haven't tried it out for myself yet but I think the lack of voice dictation to enter text fields is a huge flaw. Without a physical keyboard, this should have been a day 1 feature and I hope it comes soon. I'll still be fine with the ATV4 as my main needs are Plex and Airplay in one box so I'm thrilled to be getting that but it would make life easier to just go into Search on Plex and say the title of the movie I want.

I'm considering a Mac Mini , it really is a lot more flexible

I've done that route two times in the past couple years. The one major hang up with it has always been receiving AirPlay streams, most especially ones that appear to be somehow secured (i.e. things like WatchESPN or Cable Co apps).

..and of course now the other hang up is that it won't be able to run any of the tvOS apps that are sure to come along shortly.

I am tempted to hold off on a purchase for now - TV programming is (inevitably) limited compared to the US, but actually worse than most of the competitors at day one due to lack of BBC iPlayer; and I do think it's a shame that the iCloud Photo Library integration isn't there. This will all progress and improve, but I'm genuinely interested in any feedback from any UK owners of the new box who also own the previous gen - aside from it being shiny and new (which is always appealing!), is there enough there right now to warrant being an early adopter?

I'm with you there, Asphalt 8 at least seem like a very shoddy port. They seem to have been more interested in hitting release day than doing a good job. Games like Breakneck, Beach Buggy Racing and Rayman Adventures do a much better job at handling things like asset loading and they feel much more refined.

My biggest problem with it so far is the AppStore sucks. I hope they plan to improve on it down the line because content discovery is seriously, seriously bad.

1) Definitely, Siri should have been the default text entry method. It works fine on Apple Watch as a keyboard replacement, why not here. As a side note, couple of short cuts for people who haven't noticed yet, Play/Pase toggles uppercase and lowercase. Click on and holding the pad also brings up the uppercase letters, accents and more handily a backspace button, instead of having to go to the end for it.

2) Yeah the apps will come eventually, unfortunately it's nothing new for us in the UK to get the short end of the stick to begin with, sucks.

3) You don't need an extra remote. You can actually only use 1 Siri remote with the Apple TV. The remotes they sell are for replacement purposes. You can connect a further two bluetooth game pads, or use an iPhone or iPod touch as a controller in compatible games.

Thank you for the clarification on point 3 and very handy to know for point 1!

That's beautiful. Everyone coming to your house would ask about it and want to steal it too. It's too sexy... ;)
My parents used to get the with me which was somewhat flattering but apparently it's called kidnapping which somewhat killed the memory. And the promise of cake was a lie, these days I would not get in a van I did not know about for sweets. WiFi however...

As some one who owns a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen and succumbed to a 4th gen there is no advantages at the moment that I can see, and loss of the Remote functionality app is a real pain.

I predict that the new Remote app, when it comes, will include Siri voice control. Hopefully the Watch will be able to do that, too, shortly. Then it will be worth having.
