Just called ATT twice and they sounded like they had no idea what to do... Not sure if they were new employees or what but she first started to tell me that my phone will ship tomorrow and i should get sometime this week...
What is exactly weird about your iPhone shipping "tomorrow"? You do realize it needs more than just one day for shipping as it's coming all the way from China, right?

Oh if only you understood how complex life can really be.

*sigh*

No offense but your profile says that you already have an iPhone 4.... if money is this tight right now would it be that bad to hold of buying the new phone when you still have a very good phone?

I understand wanting the latest and greatest Apple products... but if your not in a position financially to get them... then maybe you shouldn't.

If you don't think your job and income are anyone else's business, then don't make it so by posting details about it on a public forum. If you do, you're asking for the opinions you get.

This will be the first smart phone I could buy new, while it was still new and while I'm very excited and happy about it, a delay in shipping is not the end of the world.

Didn't matter that I put up those details as I was already receiving flak from people who are apparently butthurt by the idea of me changing my mind about a phone due to dissatisfaction. Didn't know it impacted their lives so much.

It wasn't as simple as me "deciding" to not preorder the second they were available. I didn't go into detail as I had no reason to. I needed the extra day to get enough money together to buy the damn thing as I didn't know when the money would be taken out. It's kind of hard to put $350+ together when you work less than 20 hours a week for $8.50 an hour and have other things to pay for.

But yes, it is the manufacturer's fault if they run out. Apple's been doing this for quite a while now.

apple is not responsible for you not having enough cash ready at the time preorders opened up. neither is any of the carriers. you still have no one to blame but yourself. I don't see why this makes your anger any more justifiable

None taken. Also, I just have been too lazy to update my profile. Part of the money I put together for the 4S was thanks to the selling of the iPhone 4 that I had. I wish I was able to afford the 4S AND keep my 4. Then I wouldn't care if I had to wait longer. But being on the crappy phone that I am in the meantime, I'm a bit impatient. I'll remove the iPhone from my profile.

I was unaware of me blaming Apple for my lack of money. I said it's their fault if they don't have enough stock. Whether I was to buy one or not, they should have ample supply to cover the first couple of days at the very least.

Out of curiosity - are you between the ages of 13 and 16?

Nope.

Yeah it's probably just me being my pessimistic (among other things) self. What are the chances of people receiving them on Thursday? Like, how does that work?

it happened last year because they shipped them out in time so that there'd be no doubt that the phones would be in the right place before launch. The shipping companies (don't remember who they used last year) were not supposed to deliver the phones until launch day, but some of them took them out for delivery anyway.

Here's hoping that it happens again this year.

my mistake, I was basing that assumption off how others were reacting to your post, not what you actually said. I apologize.

however, Apple can only make so many phones, and the need some to sell for launch day. They sold 600,000 in 12 hours. Thats pretty absurd. I don't think they could have made any more available. Not to mention they probably don't want too many more phones all hitting up their servers to activate, set up iCloud, etc on day 1...that would be chaos.

Lord knows I am not a fan of at&t's customer service and policies by any means. But seriously, anyone else calls them about launch day orders between now and Friday deserves a few punches in the face. Also, anyone that posts about "preparing for shipment" also deserves to be punched in the face. What is wrong with you people that you don't know what patience is?

Stop making threads about shipping. You are only allowed to cry if your order has been shipped and somehow, lost. The rest of us do not care if your phone is on its way cause guess what, ALL of our phones are on its way too! All you're getting is a phone. It's not a unicorn. Calm the F down.

That goes to show how ridiculous this is. My words have apparently lost context as it would look like they've been twisted to mean something different, therefore misleading you.

That is quite a number, and you make fair points. All I was trying to say is that for a company who's been through this 4 times prior, plus iPads, and Macs and whatnot, they'd have a pretty damn good idea of how much they need to make and to adjust release dates accordingly. Now if they were holding back on creating so many phones because of your aforementioned reasons, then I understand. Chaotic it can be indeed.

As if making that post is going to stop others from doing what annoys you. Stop complaining about people complaining. It's annoying. And no I'm not complaining....yet.

hey not to step out of line here but are you the same person who said you weren't gonna get an iphone 4s and how u were so amazed with the inspire 4g that you decided to get an android phone? it may or may not be you who im thinking of.

Forgot to address this earlier. No I'm not that person, however my dad does have an inspire that I am impressed by. Not so much that I'm able to easily pick one over the other.

I've been dealing with the same guy at my local AT&T store for years. He has always seemed to know his stuff, so I always order through him. When I ordered the 4S on Friday, he told me that at various points in the system (e-mail, status page, etc.) I might see that the phone was scheduled to ship in 14-21 days. He said to pay it no mind and that my phone would arrive at my door on launch day.

Good to know. I wish he had mentioned those who ordered on Saturday too

Captain they do know the demand for sure but I know they aren't going to make the supply purely on a "Guess" that every phone / ipad will be exactly the same. Bad business mistake. So they make a good amount but if it exceeds you have to wait. Dont like it? Show ur balls and cancel and go elsewhere. Otherwise cry about it on macrumorus for a week or two and still dont cancel like every other little bitch that crys on macrumours .. and still get ur **** then jizz about how awesome ur phone is lol..

sigh..

You could have just said you changed your mind, you didn't need to explain. You're letting people judge and bait you. Just calm down and think about your shiny new phone! :)

Years ago, when I was married to an idiot, I couldn't have gotten an iPhone, if we'd had the money. Now that I'm single and can afford one, I can't wait for my new toy, so I do understand.

However, arguing is just annoying you even more!

Well I'm glad to see some friendly tone (lol) directed towards me. I have a thing against judgmental people, so yes I do fall for it. I'm also combative which makes it even easier for me to fall for stupid stuff.

Glad to hear you're out of your idiot situation lol. I'm just concerned is all. I took a chance with buying this and whether or not this was the right decision is of no concern to me. Although that's somewhat untrue as it has put me on edge a bit... I just wanted to know when I'd be gettin this bloody thing. I see people now posting about how they can check it on FedEx & UPS. I ordered through Premier which is supposed to use FedEx, but I can't seem to get anything out of it. Idk if I'm doing it right though.

Thanks for not being a douche :D
