Both. I just got my replacement and its doing the same thing as well.
Here's a video. Is this a general issue?

I don't think it's an issue, actually. I think it's part of palm rejection.

Try this: instead of tapping on the edge, put your finger anywhere on the trackpad but not close to the edge, then drag your finger accross the surface to the edge - and try to click.

Works, right? For me it works every time. Because no one really starts dragging and clicking from the edge, but we sometimes end up dragging something near the edge. And in this case it always works and you can move and click at the very edge - as long as you don't start there.

So, I think this is part of a system to prevent accidental palm clicks when typing.

True, an astute observation and reasoning.

If it were me designing, I would be very satisfied at this, that yes, one user got the sophistication behind the simplicity.

Yep thats it I think! thanks for solving this mystery. Sometimes I was scrolling/clicking near the edge, and thats how I first noticed it. Hopefully it gets worked out with a future update or something.

I received my macbook earlier this week with the exact same issue. Called in to apple support and they said it was not normal behaviour and that they're sending a new one over. Seems like we received the same batch of computers.

Having your trackpad bent that way is not normal, it doesn't matter whether you laugh or not

Do you own one of these notebooks? If yes, please show us your non-bending trackpad. We will use that video to grab a replacement from Apple.

I hope I am not hurting anybody here, but my comment to follow is just a lighthearted comment in the spirit of something you don't see everyday.

As far as normal goes, there is a lot that is not normal. The 45th POTUS being one. I am sure that if that can happen, Apple can surely be forgiven some movement in the trackpad. ;)

Cool, when can we expect a statement from you initiating a full worldwide recall of the MacBook Pro?

It's normal. I've had three 2016 MBPs, and everyone here is echoing the same statement. Push the trackpad down firmly in the top center, and you get flex. It affects precisely nothing, and if you don't like it, go ahead and don't buy it.
