Today, based on your photos, i bought the series 7 in graphite and silver stainless band. I created a macrumors account just to tell you this. So thanks very much.
Aw that’s great, yeah I got the series 7 in graphite and still rocking the silver link bracket, love the combo :)

Love my Graphite. Nice change from the Silver I’ve had for 3 generations. Even looks great with the Apple Classic Buckles with the silver lugs

Does anyone know if the graphite Milanese loop will scratch the graphite stainless steel Watch? Apple website says it’s PVD for the band VS DLC
My guess is it will. Both the graphite watch and the band are PVD coated. I know there has been speculation that the graphite watch was DLC, but Apple has clarified the tech specs to clearly state is is PVD.

so is it still better than the aluminium for scratches etc?

@xraydoc @UnjustifiedBot yep, same as OP's. My friend has had his since early watch iteration so despite the large cost, it pays for itself over time. He's got his with SS silver watch, i think it goes really nicely with the graphite.
I bought the silver stainless link bracelet back with my original S0 watch. Still wear it to this day. When I had a black aluminum S3, I bought the space gray link bracelet -- found it "used" online at an amazing price, but when it arrived it was basically brand new & never warn. Box was open but the plastic protectors were still on the band. The space black link looked amazing with the black aluminum S3. It would probably look great with the midnight S7.
