lol wow... you waffle a lot. Stick with the mbp, you're driving yourself nuts and your family.

Well, just think about all your experience with so many different notebooks! HP, Sony, Apple, Lenovo and probably a few more thrown in some where!

Not everyone gets to handle and play with some many kinds of brand new laptops! And, easily returning stuff is Best Buys policy so they shouldn't grumble. Makem' work for a living!

Go get a MBA 13" and a new 27" Apple Cinema Display with Thunderbolt. Don't just settle, keep changing until you get it right.

Good luck!

Thanks for the replies, I'm in tears laughing at some of them. My wife read the thread and is now fully confident that I am in fact crazy. She will now hold this over my head forever. Could be worse I guess...

Your wife sounds like a cool chick. :) And kudos to you for having a sense of humor about some of the responses (including mine).

This is a great example of how technology does NOT make life simpler. :p

Crazy story. I'm exhausted just reading it.

just make sure you get the updated air from BB. they only had the prev. gen when i was looking around there today.

hey m8,you are the consumer, and frankly,i think your a very gutsy guy,

good one,its up to us to demand value for money, you found out the hard way that theres a lot of crap out there, good for you i say,:)

In order for you to switch from a PC to Mac, youe have to be a pretty open minded person and embrace change. Otherwise, you'll never be able to switch.

I can completely relate to you. I have always felt buyers remorse even if I only bought a bar of chocolate, a pair of $20 jeans or a Macbook Pro. I got the 15" thinking I wanted it but than I got it and thought it was a little big. Thought about going back to the apple store to return it but that's a 6 hour drive and the entire family told me not to bother. I'm still not sure about the machine but oh well.

LOL that was probably one of the funniest post ever OP. I'm wore out from just reading about your Return Extravaganza! :)

Your poor wife and kids must be suffering from whiplash by now just watching you coming and going. :D

You really do have a great machine. Install Windows 7 if you need to and don't worry about it anymore.

Try asking questions and demoing the laptops before you buy, what you did was pretty *******ish considering peoples bonuses can be affected by returns/exchange rate. I work at BB myself and would've refused any sale to you after the 5th return and told you to get lost.

In all seriousness, I consider myself a pretty tech savvy guy and it took me a month to get used to OSX when I switched from PC. In the end, it was worth it for me to take the time to learn all the intricacies as I feel I am about 3x more productive on a MBP vs. having to tweak and fix my PC's when I want to work instead.

Also, MBP is the best PC laptop I've ever owned - granted, I did upgrade the hell out of my MBP.

If you're not invested in your purchases, you will never be happy. Do your research, figure out your needs and go from there. More importantly, take the time to learn how to use your new gadget. once you get it I'm sure some of those PC's may have cool features in them as well... a Mac may not be for everyone.

You drove 6 hours for a computer? You had to get it from the Apple store? Why not order one online? Save lots of time and fuel money.

why are they fails?

They are fails because this guy obviously has no idea what he's doing and continues (and will likely continue) to double guess himself. Maybe he doesn't have the time to really research what he needs, maybe he doesn't know what he's trying to research, maybe he buys into a bunch of marketing bullsheet. I dunno, but I remember when I was younger and when it came to researching computers that I spent enough time that I told my Dad quite simply what would work best for the whole family. Thus, the best advice I can give is to listen to your kids and see what they know.

I also was wrong in my first post, it's not like my fiancé picking a cupcake. It's worse, cause my girl knows what she wants. This guy doesn't.

You know, all the responses were great, except for this one. Let me enlighten you on what you as a BB employee should already know:

You need to look at the big picture when it comes to BB's return policies, as I'm sure the BB bean counters have.

1. BB is the only place I go to buy electronics of any kind, large and small ticket items. I've spent a ton of money in there over the years, and I never care whether they have the best price for the product I'm buying, simply because of their return policy. Their return policy is a big part of what makes them so profitable. They wouldn't have this policy if they lost money on it in the long run.

2. With the exception of this notebook fiasco, I've hardly returned anything to BB over the years.

3. My decisions to return 9 laptops costed me far more in time than it costed BB in money, for sure. I'm sure they're aware of how much time is consumed in exchanging products, which also works in their favour.

4. Because they were so fantastic about it, I'm a continued customer who will go back again and again, to buy more stuff. I don't even consider stores whose return policies are lesser than BB's.

Had one of them told me to "get lost", when I wasn't violating a single policy that's laid out on their wall, well I can say that it wouldn't have been pretty, especially for the employee who had the ignorance to blurt that crap out.

And finally, in all fairness, why is 95% of BB's notebook selection last-years models? Not being up on the latest and greatest was clearly my mistake, but I never expected to walk into a BB, check out their laptops, pay top brass, and go home with last years model! It was only after doing some research did I see that newer models could be had for similar money from other outlets. The Mac was one of the few models that I was sure was the latest offering (since Apple doesn't have 10,000 models like other PC companies), and played a big part on my choosing it.

You seriously think a little guy like me should be concerned about exchanging a notebook as per the policy, to a multibillion dollar corporation that enjoys profits you or I will never see in this, or multiple lifetimes? That's simply ignorant.

Wow. And I thought I was the "return king".

But seriously, if I were u, I would return the 13" one last time and get the new MBA.
