Update:

I still find nothing on UPS.. I ordered a 16g White for Verizon...

Also ordered white 16 around 7:30am and it's also still preparing for shipment and no info on FedEx or UPS

Order the same thing and also says that for me roo

Got bad news for you. ANK is a MAJOR customs facility.

Man you're gonna believe what you believe so it's useless. If you have ONE item coming from china it could go through Anchorage but when there are containers than contain multiple items that are destined for various parts of the country they go through the central international hub.

Your iPhone is in a box with at least 24 other iPhones and that box is in a container with at least 100 other boxes.

This is why huge shipments go through the central hub.
But believe what you want.

I don't care. :)

I just got the official email from Apple with the tracking number. It is the same tracking number that I've had all day thanks to the instructions in this thread.

The phone is in Alaska, scheduled for delivery on Friday.

White 32G (ATT)

So I guess this means it's cleared customs and it's going to be heading to Memphis tonight?

Its good you dont care, you are making statements with no knowledge.

I (and many others) watched our iPhone 4s fly from China to Ontario California and then to their destinations. It seemed these deliveries were for those on the West part of the US.

These apple products, without a doubt did not go to MEM. In my case it went from Hong Kong to ANC, direct to ONT, then direct to PHX.

Take a look at the other forum that is everythingicafe for pages and pages of proof.

But look, I did you a favor, here is one of the screenshots. Notice the lack of a Memphis scan?

You can admit you are wrong now. We all know it.

I guarantee you that phone went through Memphis,Tn before it got to you.

Any item that goes through international customs goes through that port first. That is where ALL shipments from other countries go to first upon entering the continental U.S. Via FedEx.

It's a law.

not the ones that go thru alaska

LOL... NO EXCEPTIONS! He split cuz he was wrong and got called out.

So my order is in Preparing for Shipment, my eligibility still shows that I have upgrade pricing and my card has not been charged. Carrier sites have no shipping info as of yet.....I'm starting to think my phone hasn't shipped yet. :p

Good on u billinaz, I was gonna post as well saying that I was in the thread from last year, and I too remember actually following the flights coming out of Anchorage to their destinations. I live on the east coast, Massachusetts, and mine actually was flown to Ohio, I believe, and then to Connecticut, then driven to me in MA. As I recall from the thread everyone was saying that our iPhones were going through customs in Anchorage. Later

All this pretending to know about shipping routes, legalities, etc. is cracking me up. The reality is that UPS and FedEx are huge logistics companies with lot's of planes and lots of routes. They have complex logistics software to help them determine the most cost effective way to deliver to their customers. Do they follow the same routes most of the time? Sure, particularly through those large hubs, but just remember this, just because you've had your packages follow the same route 50 times in a row, doesn't mean it will take the same route on the 51st shipment.

Last year I ran my cellphone number as the reference number in the fedex tracking page. I saw my tracking number and movement to the HK airport long before the status changed to shipped on the apple store and definately before I got the email.

If you have Verizon, your upgrade eligibility will not change until your new phone is shipped or received (Verizon rep wasn't sure which). I was worried about it as well, but my card has been "authorized" for the full amount.

I was surprised to see my iphone go thru Ontario, I expected it to to to MEM. As I followed the thread, I saw that others on the west coast got theirs from OAK. I followed the fedex flight from ANC and surprise, it went direct to OAK.....

You can follow the route using flightaware based on the departure scan. They are exact to the minute.....

Update: None. Mine still says "Prepared for shipment."

I don't understand how anyone follows the flights either nor do I want too. I'm praying it does not come Thursday though.

I'm in Indiana, ordered a black 16 GB from Apple 7 AM EST, still preparing for shipment from Apple, nothing from UPS or FedEx.

At least I got a shipping notice for my case :)
