Just had a chat with a Sprint rep (Jessica of course). After she attempted the usual run around "will be there on the 14th/15th" nonsense, I called her out regarding the information I have found in this forum (way to go guys!). She tried to tell me that no orders had been shipped, and that no carrier had picked up any packages from their warehouse.
"Jessica: I do apologize however, Sprint has not yet shipped any devices thus far. When you ordered your device you were given a time frame of arrival being Oct. 14-15. Please be assured you will receive your device by then. I do apologize for the inconvenience."
So given her lack of information, and the wealth of information in the forum, my belief is that the shipping information being accessed at this point is for phones leaving China and headed to the US. She made it sound like the phones are still sitting in their warehouse, so my guess is that those shipments from overseas are headed to the warehouse(s). So lets hope that all goes as planned, and that it shows up on time. I dont care if it doesnt come early, just as long as it is not late.

One of mine is in Alaska too, same time, 2:41. That one is the second phone I ordered, a 16GB black for my wife. The first order I placed about 30 minutes before that was mine, a 32GB black. That one still says preparing for shipment. 
Seems like my wife might get hers first.

Yeah, would there be different delivery times? Both of my 16GB black 4S's are still preparing for shipment...

My iphone has just arrived in Anchorage....leaving for Ontario, CA in a few hours...
Both of these. Any iPhone that comes from china via UPS goes through the international hub in Kentucky before it goes to Ontario,Ca.
Those phones were already in the U.S.
So what are you saying? Since my iPhones are still in the "Preparing for Shipment" phase, you're saying they are already in the U.S. or what?
I was thinking the same thing. People who have a delivery date of 10/14 and the order status is preparing for shipment already have their iPhones in the US. Just a matter of time till they are placed on the damn truck

Like I said any phone that comes from china goes through the world port hub in Louisville , Ky. First before going to regional distribution centers. Ontario,Ca. Is one of those distribution centers.
Yes and Unfortunately, I don't see any flights from anchorage to louisville until tomorrow. Oh well.
I wouldnt worry about it. UPS has their own very large fleet of planes that move stuff very fast.
Anyone that ordered from Apple that still has their status listed as "preparing for shipment" not have their credit card charged yet? I ordered around 9am EDT on Friday and received an order acknowledgment email around 3 hours later. As of yesterday it has been in the shipment status and the UPS trick does not work for me...
I am concerned since my card hasn't been charged yet?anyone else not get charged yet??
and now reading this thread I see that people have gotten their orders cancelled today even though they ordered on Friday too.. I initially placed my order through verizon but then cancelled it and ordered through Apple. Now i'm afraid I will have the same "two iphones for one line" problem as others are having...
If you had your order cancelled, was it still in the "processing" status or had you already gotten to "preparing to ship"?
I'm just really anxious because I got my first iphone which was the 4 and then 2 wks later got it stolen.. I have been waiting over 2 months to get a new one and am stuck with a crappy blackberry til then...

Yeah but aren't all orders from Apple going through UPS? Track by reference isn't working for me for either UPS or FedEx. I know it's not a big deal, and I'm sure everyone will get their phones on Friday, but I (like many on these forums) enjoy tracking my packages

Looks like it but just in case somebody's ended up on FedEx somehow you'll have that info.

Both say preparing for shipping so would assume that both are on the way if one is, but then again Apple never charged me for one of them even though that one says its preparing for shipping.

Exactly, and I ordered my wifes 16GB 30 minutes after I ordered my 32GB. I used 2 separate cards for the orders, both are showing the charges as temporary/pending authorizations. I'm not really worried about... yet. If it doesn't change by like Wednesday, then I may start to wonder. But, hopefully the will both just show up sometime this week.
