You want something for nothing, Apple or your carrier did not bend you phone.

My new iPhone 6 is not bent, it is in a Otter Box case...

i think at this point anyone who is still trying to defend apple and blaming owners is clearly delusional.

But why would you conclude that? I've had my 6 Plus since the 21st and it's fine. I'm not being careful any more than before. I don't think the posters are lying about what's happening but it's clearly NOT a holistic problem.

You guys are really still trying to defend Apple? As mentioned, I've done nothing to bend the phone. Don't even compare this to cracking a screen. I put the phone in my pocket. What am I supposed to do, carry it in a purse now? I like Apple products (I have a macbook air, iPad air, and have had numerous iPhones) but the way some of you guys blindly defend Apple is disgusting.

This isn't an isolated issue. I see numerous posts each day from people saying their iPhone bent from normal use. I see it on here, reddit, and other apple forums.

Do I really want a phone that I have to hope doesn't bend from being in my damn pocket? What if Apple stops replacing these under warranty?

EDIT: I appreciate seeing those acknowledging Apple's issues. We should expect better from a company that makes premium products and charges accordingly.

I was in denial for the first 2 weeks and I stood by Apples side and defended them over and over but sadly I retract my defense. The phones are extremely bendable and not under normal conditions.

Last night I attended a haunted hay ride here in Los Angeles, I sat down with the rest of the crowd in a hay covered wagon and totally forgot that that my 6Plus was in my front pocket, I was wearing somewhat loose shorts. This morning I woke up and my phone is officially rocking back and forth on a flat table...Its slightly bent.

I took such good care of this phone, I think this was the first time it was ever in my pocket.

At this point its worthless for me to even go and exchange it, whats the point if all I'm going to receive is a another 6 Plus that bends.

All I can do is wait and hope that Apple steps up and recognizes this problem and fixes it for the 6S Plus next year.

Not really.

If you dropped your phone and the screen cracked you would blame yoursel.

if you bent your phone, why wouldnt be your fault also?

Nope. Dropping a phone is abusing it. Putting it in a pocket is not. I've had countless smartphones (Galaxy S, S2, S3, Nexus, iPhone 4,4S, 5, etc..) and never had a bent phone or broken screen. I take care of my stuff.

How so? Tests outside of Apple have credible results. Believing someone on the internet seems a bit more of a stretch in my opinion. I'm not saying they are not telling the truth but for the burden is on them.

the consumer reports test that yall are clinging on to is clearly flawed, this is something that has been pointed out many times.

At this point it is not just a few isolated cases, and I doubt ALL those people who said they had a bent phone from normal usage is lying. I never took those bend test videos seriously, but when the phone is bending from normal day to day usage like many people are reporting, then it becomes a problem. I have a 6 plus and it is not bent, but that may be because i am being extra paranoid about it.

I appreciate these posts as they will help me to be more cautious when I upgrade to the 6 or 6 plus (still on the fence). I always carry mine in my front pocket. One risk with this is that I have to remember not to lean over a railing or anything where there would be a force on the phone.

Realistically, any long thin device will bend. What Apple should do is choose an alloy (or composite) that returns back to the original configuration.

No one here knows your intent. If my phone were bent I would take it to apple and get it exchanged or get a refund not come on macrumors and claim the is a flaw.

And how convenient is that you mention some android phones as your replacements. That makes your claim a bit suspect.

This. This right here.

Is it bendable? Yup. That can't be argued. But I think it's a total luck of the draw thing.
I've had my 6 since the 20th, and have kept in my jeans, and whatever. No change to how I use it, and no bending.

So it's a YMMV thing.

I can guarantee you that Apple, regardless of their public stance, is watching this like a hawk.

Or just don't bend your phone.

That seems to be working for millions of people so far.

if you don't want to bend it, don't sit with it in your pocket, whether front or back. Put in your shirt pocket, or put it in a holster. It's a big phone. You need to adjust.

You got to be kidding me. Listen to yourself... "Don't sit with it in your front pocket". Thank you for the laughs. If the iphone is so fragile that you can't sit with it in your front pocket how can you still say this is OK?

Exactly. Millions of owners to whom it hasn't happened "yet". I hope you won't be complaining about yours soon. Karma?

I think we'll see a silent hardware change to reinforce the weak spot at the bottom volume button, combined with warranty replacements until that hardware change is in full production. Ideally, you'll want to baby your iPhone or accept warranty exchanges until your fellow web denizens/new sources confirm the hardware fix/reinforcement is in mass production. Then get it replaced once and for all with the new bend-resistant iPhone.

This is speculation, btw.

Same thing happened with antenna-gate.

You were clearly concerned about the issue in your previous posts. Even sounds like you were looking for the best case to help protect your investment, so I am sure you were extremely cautious. You are a credible member of this forum.

SurfMonkey where are you? Waiting for you to blame this person for misuse or claim it was a factory defect they missed.

Just enjoy your phone and not worry about what people are saying. No one on here can support there phone was bent during "normal " usage.

The best Android smartphone out there right now is the Xperia Z3 (imo). Too bad it's T-Mo only. For Verizon get the new Moto X or wait a bit for the Droid Turbo.

Is it confirmed that the Z3 is only coming to T-Mo? Sony really needs to learn how to launch a product in the US; they're shooting themselves in the foot when they finally have a great smartphone to sell. Also, it seems like Sony's software is really buggy on the Z3 at the moment. iOS 8 is too, of course, but at least with Apple they're going to fix it. How long is the Z3 going to have to wait for Android L? And will it break the software Sony has written?

I was advising my brother on an Android purchase (he just doesn't like Apple, so the iPhone 6 was a non-starter), and he went with the LG G3 because they dropped the price to $99 w/ 2-yr contract and there's a $100 mail-in rebate on it. The G3 has decent battery life, the best form factor for a 5.5" device at the moment (IMO), and a QHD display -- however, because of the artificial sharpening they use, text actually looks better on the 4.7" iPhone 6 and its 326ppi. The iPhone also has more accurate colors & greyscale, better contrast, and better performance off-angle.

There's also the Note 4, which is the best phone Samsung has ever made (that's not saying much), but then you have to deal with TouchWiz.

I'm taking pretty much every precaution to avoid stressing my iPhone 6, but if it bends I'll probably kindly ask Apple for a warranty replacement and hope that they'll take me at my word that I didn't sit on the thing.

I also had mine since the 19Th. It's really sad, I purposely didn't put it into my pocket to try and avoid the bending issue, I carried it with me in my hand.

Last night I had my family with me and i had to hold the tickets for everyone to get on these Haunted Hay Rides and i put the phone into my shorts pocket with out even thinking. Its very sad that after one sit down it bent.

Cell Phones and pockets are as corresponding as Car Keys are with your pockets. Imagine putting your car key into your pocket and it gets bent because you sat down and then you couldn't start your car. Im pretty sure you would be upset and concerned.

Is it really suspicious that he mentions phones from competitors if iPhones don't work for him? Options

1. Replace it and deal with the problem again while worrying about
2. Go back to an essentially outdated iPhone that he's already owned.
3. Go with a new smart phone from competitors
4. Get rid of all smart phones

Exactly. Millions of owners to whom it hasn't happened "yet". I hope you won't be complaining about yours soon. Karma?

Based on what? Your belief?

Karma has nothing to do with me bending my phone if I do. I just take care of it knowing type of phone I choose to carry .

People will continue defending Apple here until Tim Cook holds a press conference and admits the phone is flawed. It's not worth arguing with them. I decided to quit after I realized how much time I was spending arguing with people who are incapable of perceiving reality

Thank You. I truly was. I officially give up. At this point its just acceptance. I will Stand by Apple until June of 2015, if the phone is not fixed by then I will simply start to consider Apple products substandard and Steve's vision dead. Not to mention Ill think twice about buying the iPhone 7 in 2016

On a Side Note: RIP Steve, today marks the 3 year anniversary of his death.

Just as I doubt ALL those people had their phone bend with no reason besides normal wear and tear. I would say it is still a few isolated cases. This is not a widespread problem. I'm not saying it can not become one but right now it is a small number in the total sales.

I posted that with regards to the 6 Plus, not the 6. You should be able to sit with it without fear of bending. The 6 Plus requires a little more care.

Based on what data does the 6 Plus require more care? Just interested in where this idea came from.

But why would you conclude that? I've had my 6 Plus since the 21st and it's fine. I'm not being careful any more than before. I don't think the posters are lying about what's happening but it's clearly NOT a holistic problem.

It's not widespread, but there may be a QC issue with some units. For instance, perhaps the back of the phone is getting hot from heavy use while in a case and/or charging and causes the aluminum to become more maleable. The batteries in both the 6 & 6 Plus are incredibly thin -- maybe some of them are warping while most are fine.

In any event, I don't think we should assume that someone is lying about not abusing their phone.
