Is it really suspicious that he mentions phones from competitors if iPhones don't work for him? Options

1. Replace it and deal with the problem again while worrying about
2. Go back to an essentially outdated iPhone that he's already owned.
3. Go with a new smart phone from competitors
4. Get rid of all smart phones

In a Mac forum it is. All of these claims that there is a flaw that makes your phone bend during normal use cant be proven and it is hard to ignore that millions of people this is not having this issue at all.

Based on what data does the 6 Plus require more care? Just interested in where this idea came from.

I think what he's saying is that in an equal-sized front pocket, the 6 Plus is going to fill that pocket more fully and is more likely to be stressed when sitting down or bending over.

Although the CR data suggests the 6 Plus is stronger than the 6 when force is applied to the center, it's much more likely that the 6 Plus will have force applied to it during normal use.

Based on several reports here and videos. I know, I know, in many minds they are all bogus, because normal use could never cause an issue with Apple's always perfect products.

Nope. Dropping a phone is abusing it. Putting it in a pocket is not. I've had countless smartphones (Galaxy S, S2, S3, Nexus, iPhone 4,4S, 5, etc..) and never had a bent phone or broken screen. I take care of my stuff.

Even you admit you don't know how you bent your own phone. You could have slammed it into a bike rack by accident or something. Doesn't mean you don't take care of your phone but it would still be your fault.

In any event, I don't think we should assume that someone is lying about not abusing their phone.

Why shouldn't we? We've seen how much force one needs to bend the phone. That isn't occurring just because one sat down with it in their front pocket. They inadvertently leaned against something to supply the required force needed to bend it.

So why is it bent? What did you do? When did you notice it?

I don't know how people keep managing this... I wear mine in my front jeans pocket all the time, and still nothing. These things aren't that easy to bend in daily situations. Especially if you know that it is an issue. Sure they could've designed them stronger, but since you know of the situation with them, why wouldn't you be extra careful since you take care of your stuff?

Return and buy Moto 2, or plain iphone 6 or something . I mean, you can't live with the fear that your phone will bend. Right?

Apparently reading owns you. This thread is about an iPhone 6 bending, not a plus model. Yes, supposedly the 6's bend too and with less pressure than the Plus.

Standing by for the multitude of "My 6 bent" threads to begin. Oh wait, already did.

I would be willing to bet that they have the in their from pants and then lean their forearms or elbows on them.

I have mine in my front pocket all day, a plus model, and no bending here.

For the reasons I stated in my post -- it hasn't been proven (and indeed would be very difficult for anyone outside of Apple to prove) that the phone can't be bent because of a rare defect like, say, battery deformation.

When you've sold dozens of millions of units of a new consumer electronics product, it's inevitable that you're going to have a large quantity of defective units, even if the percentage is very small.

As a result, I think it's most fair to take an innocent until proven guilty approach with people who have slight bends who claim they haven't done anything that should induce it.

Exactly. Millions of owners to whom it hasn't happened "yet". I hope you won't be complaining about yours soon. Karma?

Karma??? Are you kidding yourself? So you want the people who are having good experiences with their iPhone 6 to suddenly have issues with bending? What kind of post is this???

Did you read his quote properly?

sorry for being a non delusional apple fan who doesn't blindly defend everything they put out. Like do they pay your bills? it's really not that serious.

some of you fanboys are the pits, and I now understand why some people say they trash Apple, not because of the brand or its products, but because of its fans.

SurfMonkey where are you? Waiting for you to blame this person for misuse or claim it was a factory defect they missed.
probably decided to ignore such threads..../wishful thinking

Really...blind fanboyism is the most irritating form of fanboyism...
Apple is just like any other company...more than capable of making mistakes and then strongly denying/ignoring it. Not sure what Apple's roadmap is...
Their phones are now weaker.
Their OS is now buggier (had more crashes on my 5S than on my Note 3/Xperia Z2/M7)
But their prices are higher!
and somehow...all this escapes the fanboys.

The first two are in inverse proportion with time whereas the last one is direct. Should have been the other way around....:D

Consumers should start voting with their wallets ... and their heads

Well you say the consumer reports study is flawed and people are clinging to it so do you believe the video's being posted just on face value?

No i'm just saying that that test is clearly flawed and been pointed out countless times. It's been established that the iphone 6 plus doesn't bend exactly in the middle, so what even is the point of that test? We all know exactly where the phone is prone to bending and its weak spot, let's stop acting brand new.

That is the problem. People who ask for more info on how phones are bent are called delusional apple fans. The other hand if you go on faith the person is telling the truth you are some Android fan here to rain on the party.

You guys are really still trying to defend Apple? ...snip

The more pertinent question: You Bend people are still throwing up threads on the same subject and not expecting backlash?

You're a grown person. Figure out your bend problem on your own.

There is enough threads about this already for you to make an informed decesion.

If you pocket your iPhone 6 Plus and it bends then it's your fault. End of story. These phones are not designed to be carried in pockets. You do it at your own risk, but please don't go crying to Apple if you do bend your phone. They should not be expected to eat the costs of damage caused by your decisions.

basically.

I mean this is an apple website so it is to be expected but at this point, I really don't see how some people can still resort to blaming the owner.

These phones were designed to be hung by your necks? Wtf. Mind boggling

I almost always keep my phone in my left back pocket. I do that so much that the corner has worn a hole in some of my jeans. I continue to do that with my iPhone 6 but I do worry about it bending. I can feel the phone more than I did my iPhone 5.
