basically.

I mean this is an apple website so it is to be expected but at this point, I really don't see how some people can still resort to blaming the owner.

Well the video that went viral that had all kinds of editing didn't help. It just didn't seem 100% legit so it made anyone with the problem automatically have to prove themselves. I honestly don't know if there is a problem or just the people having the problem are putting the same pressure on a specific point causing the problem where others will never see it. I don't know.

Got a g3 and 5s , decided to wait and buy 6s or 7 . tired of browsing thru the forums and finding out if bendgate is real or not.

I believe there is an issue hope apple will fix it

Apparently reading owns you. This thread is about an iPhone 6 bending, not a plus model. Yes, supposedly the 6's bend too and with less pressure than the Plus.

Standing by for the multitude of "My 6 bent" threads to begin. Oh wait, already did.

I would be willing to bet that they have the in their from pants and then lean their forearms or elbows on them.

I have mine in my front pocket all day, a plus model, and no bending here.

I'm sorry internet police! I will make sure to doubleread every thread name from now on!

You guys are really still trying to defend Apple?

Not everyone. Unfortunately some people feel that there is no way possible this issue could be anything but user error. Many argue "mine didn't have this problem, so you did something you aren't telling us".

I am unsure that this is a widespread problem, but it does seem to be popping up more and more. Obviously it won't be an issue for everyone, but I am interested in seeing if it is a big enough issue for Apple to offer a solution.

I would tell Apple, at the very least, regardless of what you decide to do with the device.

As stupid as that video is, it is 100% legit..but we didn't need that video to tell us that an aluminum phone would bend if you TRIED to bend it.

If you pocket your iPhone 6 Plus and it bends then it's your fault. End of story. These phones are not designed to be carried in pockets. You do it at your own risk, but please don't go crying to Apple if you do bend your phone. They should not be expected to eat the costs of damage caused by your decisions.

Such a ridiculous post

These phones were designed to be hung by your necks? Wtf. Mind boggling

I'll admit it, I was a denier. I believed that the only phones bending were the + and from being put in a back pocket. Well yesterday I noticed my 6 was bent. I've had it not even a week, and have babied it. It was kept in a case. I also don't wear skinny jeans, just normal. I keep my phone screen in, yet it bent outwards. Also note from the picture that it bent on the volume side not the power button, showing that its a weak point.

I don't know what to do. Obviously I can get an exchange (Bought from Verizon), but do I want that? This is a wider spread problem than Apple or anyone is making it seem, so I don't want to keep going through replacements. I'm pretty disappointed in Apple.

At this point I'm tempted to get an android, maybe a Moto X2 or HTC One M8. This is just unacceptable and I don't see it being fixed. What would y'all do?
this was normal use
an exchange or refund
perhaps using a case or wearing it in a nice dressed jacket = chick magnet

and I am cackling at people saying the phone is not meant to be carried in pockets, GET OUT of here with that.

Now that I 100% agree with! If I grabbed this thing and applied pressure I know I will put a nice bend in it. That is what I'm more interested in. We know it will happen if the right force is put onto it. So that is what got me worried about when people say they have put no force on the phone and it just bent. There has to be some force put onto it. Figuring out how and when this force is causing the bend will be interesting.

That's hilarious

I can say this though, I believe if Apple uses the same material as it is now, I bet they add reinforcement to those vulnerable areas!

I'd honestly rather just see a thicker phone. This obsession with razor thin phones dones't do it for me. JMO.

Why is everyone so against these phones bending? As many threads rhere have been, clearly it is a real issue. And even when photos are shown as proof, everyone's so quick to blame the user and defend Apple.
And to the argument of how many people did it not happen to, well how many owners don't even participate in threads that are probably experiencing the same problem?

I also was a victim of a bent 6 and believe me I don't want this an issue for Apple anymore than you do.

Not clear its bent from those photos. Where's the level? Put it on a flat surface. Being held different in the 2 photos too.

It's called defense because they are past the return window. Gotta defend that lemon:)

Those photos don't show squat. He's holding it loose, not on a flat surface with a level or other tools. Not sure it's really bent.

I don't know why some people can't simply grasp the fact that there might be a small batch of phones that had challenges in the manufacturing process.

My phone is fine and I've had it in all pockets and have used it normally. Some phones bent by being in a pocket once and should be replaced.

I feel badly for iPhone 6 owners in this predicament. It's the smallest current generation iPhone available and it's still quite large and only half as strong as the 5s.

I find it much harder to muster sympathy for 6+ owners. Well before this release I said that any phone that size would probably break in my pocket.

My 4 lasted for years in a case and still looked pristine. I was not gentle on it towards the end of it's life. I'm more concerned about the 6.

I have the 4.7". I won't lie, I wear tighter pants. I was at the eagles game today and had the phone in my front left pocket all day- while sitting, while traveling up and down stairs, etc. I just checked if after reading this thread.....
No bend.

This phone has been in my pockets since I got it release day and it's been fine.

I agree with others who said it seems to be a certain batch or a huge unintentional mistake on the users part
