It's simple - dont take it with you. The phone is not meant to be carried around. It's made for looking pretty while lying on a table:cool:

i know right, or maybe all the guys should follow the women and get pocketbooks. im sure the hipsters on here already have them, they are the ones saying to not use pockets :p

I'll admit it, I was a denier. I believed that the only phones bending were the + and from being put in a back pocket. Well yesterday I noticed my 6 was bent. I've had it not even a week, and have babied it. It was kept in a case. I also don't wear skinny jeans, just normal. I keep my phone screen in, yet it bent outwards. Also note from the picture that it bent on the volume side not the power button, showing that its a weak point.

I don't know what to do. Obviously I can get an exchange (Bought from Verizon), but do I want that? This is a wider spread problem than Apple or anyone is making it seem, so I don't want to keep going through replacements. I'm pretty disappointed in Apple.

At this point I'm tempted to get an android, maybe a Moto X2 or HTC One M8. This is just unacceptable and I don't see it being fixed. What would y'all do?

Unbend it.:D

No, the regular iPhone 6 will NOT bend in your front pocket. It's impossible.

I wear slim jeans and chinos and other pants that sit well. Not extremely tight but slim. I've had my iPhone 6 in my front pocket every day since I got it. I can sit, walk, run etc. etc. and I barely feel any pressure with my phone in my pocket.

Simply, iPhone 6 will not bend in your front pocket. It's not possible.

If you really are "one of the nine" then you should go Apple store and return your phone and get new one, why you even need to ask that? (android ofc mentioned also ).

Happy with my bendless iPhone 6

How do you figure its a "Bad Batch"? What did Apple miraculously go back in time and change the Alloy composition for the phones that aren't t bent?

Give it a few months, iPhone 6 Pluses will look like St Louis Arch across the whole world and at that point every fool in this forum thats in denial will officially have their mouths permanently shut.

Oh and....Thats coming from one of the biggest Apple Fan boys in this forum, between my company and personal life I probably own 40 iPhones, 10 Macs and 20 Plus iPads, I spent upwards of 50 Grand with Apple in the last couple years, the least they could do is build me a phone that won't bend in my pocket when when I sit down to take my family on a Halloween Hay Ride wearing loose shorts. It BS.

Um.....yes. Bad batches happen all the time whether it's a cellphone or another product. Just be a very small handful of phones bent out of the millions sold does not mean that every single one will.

Take it to an Apple store, cut back on the cupcakes.

I have a 5C that I have carried on my person and in my pockets (front and back) for a year... It don't bend!

Clearly the iphone six is a weak phone. It has been proven to be poorly designed.

Proven by who and with what study?

Random people saying it bent is not proof. Do you have a phone that has bent?

All I am saying is that the plus model is not a phone that IMO can be sat on in a back pocket. Doesn't mean there is a flaw in the design.

I think he was referring the the fact that the consumer report tested the phone with the force being applied in the middle of the phone whereas the weakest area is by the volume button which is where we always see the bend.
Yes, some people mention physics and this is exactly it. In fact, the reason why people are reporting bending from sitting is exactly that. The force is not applied evenly and if there is enough force applied by the volume button then it bends there.
We don't know how strong the area around the volume button is as no one has tested it properly. To me, the consumer report is too generic and is not much help to be honest. I can bet you that if they tested the phone where they would be applying the force in the volume area then I can assure you that the force needed to bend it would be much less. Then I would want to see how much would people find it acceptable.
People defend Apple which I do understand. I want to defend it too but for some reason this time I'm just a bit cautious and I'm waiting this one out before I purchase my iPhone 6 (despite being on 4). I think that in a month or two we will see how this pans out and if it really is a problem or just a huge media bubble orchestrated by other companies.
One thing is certain. The volume buttons area is weak as all the bends are pretty much the same. All Apple might need to do is quietly update that area with little more enforcement and everything is cool. Whether or not its needed is another issue but only time will tell. :)

I hope this will get sorted quickly cause I can't be waiting any longer. My iPhone 4 is just way way slow and I was looking forward to this iPhone 6 for a long long time. :)))

That is exactly what certain people want you to feel like. The bottom line is that you can't disregard the 10s on millions that don't have this issue and worry that that few 'reported' bending issue will happen to you.

Yep. 10 days now and my iPhone continues to remain unbent.

So much for "engineering flaw".

You are right. But there are also people who don't care or won't notice slight bend. I've tested few phones in the apple store and some have a tiny bend you can only 'prove' but putting the phone face down on the table and see the wobble but most people out of those 10mil won't notice that cause they just don't care. Whether or not there is an issue is remain to be seen but for now I'll wait a month and then will make my purchase decision. It also gives Apple time to adjust things if they think its needed. At this point the whole excitement about the purchase I have been waiting for so long is a bit cloudy and the fact that I have seen some bent phones in the Apple store made it even worse.
Yes, I know that people go to the stores now and try to bend it so its not a real measure of anything but I will just wait. I wish the media frenzy actually didn't happen. All the waiting and excitement got killed by this non sense :(

And it never occurred to you that idiots are "bend testing" the iPhones in stores, hence the reason why it seems some of them are bent?

I'm willing to guess that every Apple store has a few bent phones because of ma-roons deciding to see if the rumors of bending are really true.

My iPhone 6 bent after just 2 days in my front pocket (regular jeans) with slip case on all the time. I treated it with extreme care and always took it out of my pocket while driving. Saying it's impossible to bend an iPhone 6 is blind ignorance IMHO.

Of course it has. I've also mentioned that in my posts. Thats why I'm not using that as a real measure of an issue. Was just saying that I was hoping for better reception of a phone I've been waiting for so long (I'm on iPhone 4 and want to finally upgrade it)

You're taking that so much further than where it started. Who said or suggested that Apple's products were indestructible? I said I find it hard to believe that they are sitting in their lab about to release a new product and the first thing on their mind is "We know this xxx-Product is going to bend". That's exactly what you said and that's just not a reality.

That is what I said and I don't see how the point is even debatable.
They made the phone, by some tests, almost 50% weaker than the iPhone 5, a phone that already had a very small percentage of bend problems.
If you make your product 50% weaker don't you expect the number of bend complaints to double?
And no one can say that Apple didn't see this coming because they already showed off al of their extensive stress test equipment.

i think at this point anyone who is still trying to defend apple and blaming owners is clearly delusional.

Agreed. I'm a long-time Apple fan, and I want them to succeed. But I'm not going to let that fact blind me when a product has issues that could be improved upon. I want a supercomputer/phone that I can carry in my pocket without worrying about it getting damaged under normal conditions. Let's make it happen Apple.

At first I was erring on the side of user error, but the more of these posts I see the more I actually believe in there being a real design flaw here.

Sure, "BendGate" was obnoxious and hyped up in the beginning. People purposely bending iPhones didn't help the case of those whose phones actually bent with normal use, even "babied" use. The fact of the matter is that we can expect an aluminum phone to bend when you purposely, with all your might, attempt to do so. The problem is when the phone bends regardless of going out of your way to be careful NOT to bend it.

I also can't even entertain the folks who respond to these bending claims by saying that people shouldn't carry the phone in their back/front pockets. Really? Should Apple come out with a special iPhone 6/6+ fannypack? Where else would someone carry their cellphone? What an idiotic suggestion. It's a phone. If you can't carry it in your pants pocket without bending it or WORRYING about bending it, there's a serious issue.

There have been 8 or so iPhone models prior to the 6 and 6+ and none of them have had widespread bending issues. I'm starting to really believe that there's a design flaw with these phones and at some point Apple is going to be forced to REALLY address it.

I have an iPhone 6 and it will bend if you go around and show people it does not bend. Lol. It had a very slight bend, 1/32" - just enough to make it wobble face down. I fixed it so no problem.

Now, as for all the posts that claim it was in a case and bent "out of the blue", I don't buy it. Especially when you say it was face in and it bent the opposite way??? Umm... ok... sure...

It takes a decent amount of force to cause a bend like you see in the picture. Nothing that day to day would do. I can attest to that.

You hipster! How does it handle your front pocket when you're powering up a hill on your fixie?

If you pocket your iPhone 6 Plus and it bends then it's your fault. End of story. These phones are not designed to be carried in pockets. You do it at your own risk, but please don't go crying to Apple if you do bend your phone. They should not be expected to eat the costs of damage caused by your decisions.

I'm sorry, where is this stated in the packaging that came with the phone?? A 2014 smart phone that cannot be carried in a pocket. Sucks to be a male!

Geez, soon it will be at your own risk if you pick one up!!!!
