Just an update:

I called Apple they refused to send another device out. Some how I was transferred to manufacturing errors or something. I have no idea how I got to this department, but the female that is working my case said she works with the highest grade iPhone techs who make the supply chain work, and design the process for building an iPhone.

She put me on hold for some 10ish minutes and said this yellow screen issue is a HUGE manufacturing defect and they ARE trying to pin down where it is coming from. Right now she is unaware if its the bonding agent or the LCD itself being bad.. I'd assume both. She said they are receiving TONS of replacements on the iPhone 4 and iPad 2.

She told the previous case worker all the information and they will not send a new one because after 2 there is a computer block apparently. I have to have a $500 hold on my CC and they will keep replacing them until I get a good one.

She mentioned the vibrator and screen are the 2 most common defects with the iPhone 4, and the screen is a huge problem with the iPad. She offered compensation, although she told me they cannot tell me what it will be until this is over.

Once it is, she said she will make sure the customer satisfaction department will do something AMAZING.

Her words: "Look at the forums online. That's enough proof we have a big problem here."

She checked every case of mine and said other agents just thought I was just trying to get a new phone, but she works in the department that just deals with manufacturing defects and these are all indeed issues that they ARE aware of and trying to figure where they are coming from to fix it.

so they finally admit there is a problem.

Pat- my phones aren't slightly yellow.

They are this much yellow. Heres a picture

4 replacements in over almost 4 years of having iPhone is pretty damn well in my opinion.

That IS quite bad...sorry man
But just like my opinion to OP (and others' opinions as well), this is unacceptable especially after you've gone through multiple replacements. I think it's telling you to move on
And 4 replacements in 4 years is not "pretty damn well". I've had several HTC and Moto smartphones for over 5 years and they never had an issue. In your case it's actually 4 replacements in under 1 year. Think about it.

True. Well Applecare is sending me a retail box phone. fedex shows it out for delivery right now. Will update how screen is.

Not a problem. However, I should mention - the lady I spoke with is in a manufacturing defect department and admitted this yellow screen problem is an ISSUE and this is NOT supposed to be happening.

they probabaly just told you that to "ease your mind"

I have seen yellow/blue tinting with 2 different 3g's i had but personally with my iphone 4 i dont even want to compare. I look at my screen now and it looks fine to me and thats all that matters. I think your being a little bit OCD, learn to relax a little bit. Mine does vibrate louder then my 3g but i think that is normal for most iphone4's.

Update

Received my brand new in retail box iP4 through advanced replacement. The screen makes my yellow old one look like someone took a yellow marker and colored with it.

The new one is a perfect blue tint screen. First 5 numbers of serial are 82111

Great! I hope this ends the search for you. I know it's been brutal, but look's like you finally got the phone you want.

I know. Plus I know how bad the people at the genius bar wanted to find a good one, but there guess along with mine is every refurb gets the warmer display when they replace it. Beyond me how that happens.

Big thumbs up to the OP of this thread explaining what advanced replacement is and who to talk too!

Just because the guy at the genius bar said he checked 30 phones doesn't mean he actually checked 30 phones, it's likely he went back there, checked a phone or two, and then came back with one. Maybe he took a smoke break? I don't think you could start up a phone, check the screen, turn it off, and grab another fast enough to go through 30 in 20 minutes. XD

I also don't think you're exaggerating, because I've been there before - yellow screens and defective vibrators don't sound normal.

I'm kinda wondering how a vibrator could possibly be hitting the glass though. Aren't they usually mounted against the circuit board

.. oh.. wow. Nevermind, they actually use a vibrator -unit- o_O

I guess it is possible! XD

My HTC G2 has a bit of a yellow tint compared to my bro's G2 :( But I'm too busy to get around to replacing it - plus they'll never replace it with a new one :( No where NEAR that bad though o_O

Any new update you can give? Did you ever get an iPhone 4 that had a normal screen? Also, did the customer satisfaction department every do/give you anything as compensation (they did say it would be amazing)? If so, what did they do/give you as compensation?

I'm interested in hearing the outcome.

I don't get this @ OP

Do you just grab the replacements and bounce out the store without checking the phones first?

I got mines replaced just once and soon as I got the replacement in my hands, I stayed for an extra 5-10 minutes checking for every possible known problem. I actually turned down the first replacement the Apple genius tried to give me cause it had the yellowish tint.

I can't understand how you can walk out the Apple store with your first replacement not realizing a screen problem. That alone would have ended any need for another replacement.
