So you know all about the guys issues then, right? You know what apps he has running in the background, plug ins, widgets, etc.? These run hot, I wasn't saying anything against the user here, but hell they run hot, that's why they're not called laptops, but notebooks. Apple crammed some serious hardware between a seriously tight space, with somewhat minimal airflow to keep the aesthetics. He probably has multiple software issues here. I bet a fresh install would prove so.
The cracking top case... holy cow you guys are the true idiots. Did you read what I said? Nowhere did I say it wasn't Apple's fault, or a design issue.. I simply mentioned a way to help avoid this issue with the plastic MacBooks. Yes, it is caused by being in a bag and jostled around mainly. I have 3 plastic MacBooks in this house and none of them have any cracks in the top/keyboard area. One's a core duo, 2 newer ones. The oldest white one does have stress/heat cracks in the bottom case.
Just saying.. you guys seem to like to jump on people being sensible. Someone wanting a brand new superior machine to replace one that is at least 7 months old(probably more) at no cost is kind of ridiculous unless there is a real issue. Otherwise he should be happy with a warranty repair just like any other company would do.
Relying on istat for anything is retarded. it's a poorly written 3rd party plugin that causes more issues than it solves.
You just know it all dont you.....and we know nothing......
