So you know all about the guys issues then, right? You know what apps he has running in the background, plug ins, widgets, etc.? These run hot, I wasn't saying anything against the user here, but hell they run hot, that's why they're not called laptops, but notebooks. Apple crammed some serious hardware between a seriously tight space, with somewhat minimal airflow to keep the aesthetics. He probably has multiple software issues here. I bet a fresh install would prove so.

The cracking top case... holy cow you guys are the true idiots. Did you read what I said? Nowhere did I say it wasn't Apple's fault, or a design issue.. I simply mentioned a way to help avoid this issue with the plastic MacBooks. Yes, it is caused by being in a bag and jostled around mainly. I have 3 plastic MacBooks in this house and none of them have any cracks in the top/keyboard area. One's a core duo, 2 newer ones. The oldest white one does have stress/heat cracks in the bottom case.

Just saying.. you guys seem to like to jump on people being sensible. Someone wanting a brand new superior machine to replace one that is at least 7 months old(probably more) at no cost is kind of ridiculous unless there is a real issue. Otherwise he should be happy with a warranty repair just like any other company would do.

Relying on istat for anything is retarded. it's a poorly written 3rd party plugin that causes more issues than it solves.

You just know it all dont you.....and we know nothing......

No, but after being an authorized service provider for years I see more than a dozen machines a day. I was just stating things I have seen, in my experiences. (which are a plenty)

You tell me where my reasoning is off smart guy.

Sorry for the Delay..

OP any updates?

Hi guys, sorry for the delay

Well, its been just under a month now since I gave the Mac in for repair

They repaired it Twice, both times to no avail

I just got it back yesterday for the third time, the Hinge is completly loose and the top part is scratched and i mean SCRATCHED

I talked to my Applecare rep in Ireland, told her how Disgusted I was, and within a minute she told me she was replacing it for a BRAND NEW 2.4GHZ ALUMINIUM Macbook, even reimbursing my costs for the Invisible Shield that I had!

So all in all, Applecare rocks, but Apple genius bar sucks big time, they dont care for your Mac at all, probably toss it around back in their workshops, God Knows why they come out so scratched

So thank you guys for all your support

If you want any help on your case or want to ask me any questions regarding mine post back on here and PM so I remember otherwise it might take me a month to reply back (sorry Lozanjo!)

Hey, OP. Good to hear that they hooked you up. What did they ever say about the overheating? And was your fan going on like all the time?
Thanks

Dude, I am in the same position you were in, except its with a macbook pro. My laptop got hot enough to actually melt the keyboard. My screen came back bent and my express slot was bent from repair. Its been in and out of repair since 7th April. It went in for a mouse and display issue and now its almost falling to pieces. WTF did they do to it? and Apple has the cheek to think nothing about it. Being without a computer for 3 weeks is unacceptable! Hopefully my customer relations rep sorts it out. Time is money! they dont seem to get it!
