My new macbook pro is prepared for shipment!

I placed the order first time of the morning of the 15th (MBP 2.4/250GB/4GB + DP->DVI from Spain store). The status stayed the same as yours (expected shipping 7 days, expected delivery 3-4 Nov) until yesterday when Apple send me the email telling me it was delivered.

The email indicated it should be delivered by or before Oct 30, and the web page status changed to Shipped with a expected delivery of Oct 31 and no details about carrier status. Today the status changed again to:
"In transit to destination country - next updates expected in 4-5 business days"

So unless this changes again before the weekend I'm afraid it will arrive by 31st as indicated. I hope this gives you an estimation about timing.

thanks, let's see tomorrow. At what time of the day did the status change?
so I can see that there is a pattern in the updates..

Status changed to "Prepared for shipment" as of 4:00pm est today. I really hope I get it this week.
 
Looks like from what I have seen on other people's mine is going to be here Saturday does anyone know if the service we got includes Saturday shipment or does that mean it is monday for me =(

Mine still has no estimate for arrival but Im hoping its here Friday. I really don't want to wait until monday either.
 
Anyone know if I presign and leave a note on the door for them to open the door and put it inside if they will do so? No one in my house will be able to sign for it tomorrow or pick it up before my place closes (5pm...) and I don't want to leave it on the porch for someone to steal. Anyone know if this is possible?
 
makowb ... i did that by presigning and faxing it to fedex with the instructions to leave my shipped BBQ at the front of the house ... but that was 300 pound BBQ - kinda different... change the destination, have a neighbor / friend / family sign for it ...

Mine left Alaska about four hours ago, and it has an estimate of Friday morning. Here's hoping they don't have any major blizzards along the way!

Have any details on when yours was shipped? Im curious if they are just slacking on updating the tracking...
 
Mine as well, given the time frame of other's it should have made it way through or at least to alaska by now, however I haven't gotten an update since it left the China facility.

Hoping it is just lazy updates and it is on it's way. I am curious as to your time stamps on things I might be on the plane with you HA

I ordered oct 15, 3:30pm .. coming to Calgary ... im a little concerned that the plane that left Memphis carrying my MBP will run out of fuel shortly ... its been in the air for almost 20 hours... what the heck is going on?!?!

Yeah I think fedex is really dropping the ball with updates all around. Keep in mind that they are shipping 1000s of these per plane so if you can find someone with similar time stamps they are probably together. I can't find anyone that has similar with mine that is posting numbers but it seems like you are probably close.

Do I have to fax it? I really would like to receive it tomorrow and I can't fax tonight. Also, I would only be able to have a friend receive it around 2ish, and they'll probably deliver earlier than that. I'm not sure what to do...I can't call out of work for this...

Here's my shipping info. It looks similar to others so I'm assuming it's already in Seattle, they just haven't updated it yet.

From that tracking info it looks like you could get it tomorrow. Based on what other people are seeing...

Im still "Not yet shipped" for four days now... I shouldn't have had iWork pre-installed. I should have just ordered it separately and maybe it would be here sooner... All i can really do is wait here for "Packed and ready to ship". and maybe if I'm lucky ill get to be ready to ship for the next few days. and once Fedex finally picks it up, i wont get ANY updated tracking info until its already on my door step... I Vote apple stops out sourcing jobs.
 
Would you pay a higher price for your macbook or macbook pro to have them assembled in the states?

It's what the consumer/customer made companies do. It's not companies it's the marketplace that sends jobs overseas.

yea, when i arranged this .. i had to fax them a letter absolving them of any responsibilities if i showed up and my new BBQ was gone ... its a risk ... i was just willing to chance that someone wasent going to run away with a BBQ.

I ordered from Italy the 16th at 1.12 PM.
Not shipped yet.
Estimated shipping: 7 business days
Estimated delivery: 31 October - 3 November.

Do you think they wait to have full pallets of computers going to one country, so they have the same keyboard, same manuals etc?

From what I'm reading around most of the people saw their status change from "not yet shipped" to "prepared for shipping" the 7th actual day after the order.

Is this true?

Probably there might be some variability between countries, and I suspect that priority goes with sales, the more machines are sold in one country the more priority these countries have.

My 7 business days end the 27th, so I don't have the right to complain, yet.
Still hoping to see some movement in the shipping status!!!

I think they ship to regions, ie. europe or maybe even north europe, south europe.

I ordered from Denmark 14th with estimated shipping 8 days, arival 29-30 Oct. It just changed to Prepared for shipment today.

Ugh.... Well I will still put out the pre-release tonight. Please just come tomorrow. It would be much nicer toying with it all weekend instead of waiting...:(
