My new macbook pro is prepared for shipment!

Woohoo!!

As of 4:42am Oct 22, my order status has changed to Shipped. (Fed Ex Only says "Package Data Delivered to FedEx as of 4:42am") Hopefully only a couple more days. Its heading to Oregon, to my parents house, then they will ship it up to me in Seattle. So maybe next Mon. or Tues...

I Ordered a custom 2.53ghz 320gig @7200 on Oct. 16th around Noon.

Same here. I hope they can get it to me by Friday. I really don't want to have to wait through the weekend...

I really dont want to wait through the weekend either but am almost counting on it in my particular Situation. What config did you order if you dont mind me asking?

All the processor options run circles around my now 2 year old Dell... Ive never even owned anything dual core or 4gigs of DDR3 Ram or a 7200rpm 320gig HD...
OR MAC OSX for that matter :) besides my iPhone of course.

This beast thrills me in so many ways, I want it, I want it NOW

320GB Serial ATA @ 7200
Mini DisplayPort - DVI Adapter
Final Cut Express Preinstalled

This is my first mac AND my first laptop. Im really hoping they can work some sort of miracle with the shipping.

Very Cool we are in a very similar situation it seems.
Im an Animation student at the Art Institute of Seattle and simply cannot wait to start throwing some graphics intensive programs at it:D
 
Awesome it helps to know someone else is in my boat. Although you might get yours a little sooner. Im in Indiana. Speaking of its late here and I have class in the morning.

Hopefully while I sleep it magically gets stateside...:rolleyes:
 
Europe!?!?

Any info on shipment statuses in Europe?

I ordered from Italy my MBP 2.4 (250GB standard config) on the 16th, it still says:
"not yet shipped"

Expected shipping time 7 days, that means maximum the 27th.
Expected delivery date 3rd November.

Anyone got in in Europe?
Do you know the route it takes?

Now I added to the internet and mail compulsive disorder another condition:
The "wait for the new MBP" syndrome.

- checking every half an hour shipping status
- watched tens of times Jony Ive's video on the construction process (he has the charisma to succeed Steve)
- my girlfriend (a mac fan too) started hate me and the macs
- fall asleep on my bed with my powerbook on my laps with the shipping status page open
- set my safari homepage on the shipment status page
- etc.

Hi,
I ordered mine on the 15th and it just changed to Prepared for Shipment. I'm in Berlin ;)

So it's like they are saying in other threads, that they prepare it for shipping 7 days after the order.
Since they say that they ship in 7 WORKING days, I assume Apple factories have no saturdays and sundays.


Anyway thanks, let's hope for tomorrow. (I ordered it on the 16th)

Same entry level MBP as me?

I ordered an engraved ipod nano last week, and it arrived the day after.
Awesome.
I hope that the MBP ships with UPS too, they are super fast.

If they ship it tomorrow or Friday it should arrive before next week's end, presumably.
 
I'm almost sure Apple factories have no saturdays and sundays.
But shipping companies do, at least in Europe.
 
DAMNIT they used UPS.... IF they had used Fed-Ex it would have been here on Friday, now it won't get here until Tuesday....... Well at least it is on the way

HEYYYY i have the same config as yours.... and I ordered yesterday and they are saying:

shipping:12/11/2008 and delivers:14/11/2008
why so long the wait??!!! or they usually do this? like giving a date much later than they really expect to ship the order?

Sorry about your extended wait time. I think there is a longer delay on shipping the 320/7200 HD CTOs now because Apple underestimated the number of people wanting this HD. About three days ago the estimated shipping date increased from 3-5 business days to 7-10 business days for configs with the 320/7200. I suspect this is when they ran out of available HD stock.

The other possibility is where you live. It appears that European and Asian delivery times are longer than in the US. That is not fair but may only reflect the availability of courier service in the recipient country.


I hope they get yours to you soon. I know how frustrating it can be to wait for something.

i see...i did order from the Hong Kong store, but I m currently studying in the uk so my mum is gonna send it over yet still....so i guess i wont able to get it at least a month from now.:(:(:(:(

also dont u find the low resolution quite a bit of deal breaking? i had been struggling for so long be4 i ordered cuz this is gonna be my primary computer and i m expecting it to stay with me for at least 4 more yrs
 
I've got the new macbook pro and just a word of warning. You can't run vista on it it almost fried my graphics card

My two MBP 2.8's just arrived a few minutes ago. I hope everyone else gets theirs sooner than expected also!

They are ice cold btw, but then I'm in New England. Will let them sit for 24 hours to get them to room temp before powering them up.

Well back to work for me!
 
OH JOY!! UPS rescheduled my MBP 15.4 2.8 320/7200rpm delivery for Monday instead of Tuesday... I am SOOOOOOO pathetic that I actually check the status more than 3x per day.....:D:apple::D:apple::)

looks like i jinxed myself. yesterday i told you it could get stuck in "prepared for shipment" for a few days. mine remains unchanged. could be due to me being on the east coast (new york). probably two totally different routes.

hope you get your mac soon!

btw, have any of you had your status change during the day (U.S. time)? If not, I can give apples order status page a break for now.
