My reserve just went through to pick it up at my local Apple Store.

For those of you wondering why they didn't ask for email, name, etc... I'm assuming that since we were required to enter our phone numbers into the site, they can pull up the name of the account and use that.
 
i guess i can officially say that I've pre-ordered. ATT received my request and sent me an email confirmation. Good luck everyone. Hope it wont cancel on us.
 
Am I the only one who has been trying since 7 am est today?

This is getting ridiculous. Do I have any other options to have it mailed to my house on the 24th?

Apple.com and Att.com it took me about 2 hours of constant refreshing

After numerous attempts throughout the day... finally completed the pre-order process. :)
 
Shouldn't I get a confirmation email?

I think mine went through. I did it at like 7:00 EST from the AT&T site, but after I put in the credit card info and hit submit I got an error. Now I see that my credit card has been charged, and my AT&T eligibility has changed to 6/16/2011, but no confirmation email or anything else. I'm not sure what to do at this point but wait.

Oh Jeez! I just read up a few pages where somebody was talking about an order status. I didn't even think of that. I checked it and it looks like I am in progress. The worst part is that this happened hours ago when I woke up, and I've been trying like a fool all day to pre-order when it turns out I was already set.
 
Just got through on AT & T.com!!!!!!!! Finally. Just short of 9 hours. Looks like they are slowly getting through the chaos.
 
finally was able to place my order after 2 hours of trying. started at 6 am and didn't get through till about 8:20. ended up late for class too, but it was worth it.


32gb all black iPhone 4. happy belated birthday to me :D
 
After the usual pre-order launch day insanity at Apple and AT&T and a ton of mechanical problems with numerous web store crashes and updates I've successfully ordered my new Black 32GB iPhone 4 to be delivered to my house on the morning of June 24th. :)

I've been an Apple user since 1986 or so and have been through a ton of their product launches and I must say this one was the MOST difficult. The bottleneck occurred at the handshake between Apple.com and AT&T's websites during account verification where they check to see if you are eligible for the discount pricing.:rolleyes:

I must say reading through some other people's order horror stories was entertaining and helped break the monotony of sending and resending the info to hanging servers. :eek:

Well, I finally got through on AT&T and ordered it.

I was upgrading, but it was still asking me the type of plan I wanted for some reason.

I don't even think they charged me the $18.00 I thought I was suppose to pay. I'll have to check later because their website is creeping.
 
FINALLY done. Started at 6 this morning and after too many attempts to count, finally got through to AT&T's server through the Apple Store and checked out as quickly as I could!

9 more days!
 
Finally got mine thru att even though I really didn't want to go that route. Just moments after I printed my confirmation, I tried to log on to my att account again and got crazy crashed errors. Hopefully in the nick of time, but not sure I'll get it on the 24th since I put the order in after the 2 pm EST time. Hopefully, but not counting on it.

**Started at 5:30 a.m. this morning Pacific time, took till just after 2 pm Pacific time.
 
FINALLY got it ordered. Been trying since seven in the morning. 16gb Black. Funny thing is, Its for my Dad. I have to wait until august to get mine :( . Oh well.

no that is not normal. It should say upgrade and I got a FREE WAIVED upgrade fee. Guess cause I pay att so much :(

It was not an easy process tried apple for the longest when I should have been on att.com all along.

Use internet explorer and you should be fine.
 
Finally got in around 3:45 p.m.! All of a sudden the website (apple.com) was working perfectly and smoothly and I was able to preorder my 16g black. It charged my cc right away too, so there's that...
 
Got mine in about 5 minutes ago. Hopefully it stays ordered and I don't get more bad luck with a canceled order. This definitely wasn't what I expecting..

First no White models, and then the insane amount of server issues. As long as it arrives I will be a satisfied customer. I can't get too upset, especially when there are millions of people trying to order products from one main source (AT&T) due to accounts... crazy crazy.
 
Ok I have a question with the Apple preorder online.

I am the account holder. My fiance is on a family plan with me. Who's social and phone number gets put in? Mine for my phone, her's for her phone line, or mine for both ?

Incorrect. Mine says new service, but it clearly says upgrade in my confirmation email.
 
I finally got mine through the Apple site. I really hope I can change the address, otherwise I think I'll have to wait until Friday night to get it from the FedEx warehouse.
 
just got one 16gb from apple store about 40 minutes ago. the account is in my name so when i tried doing my wifes i put in my social number. it would only go so far on that one and could only get store pickup.
