Id advise people to reserve a unit that is already in store with the in store pick up option.

Yea even if it is calibrated it won't work for me. Too grainy. the air was gonna save me some money but in the long run its fine. I'll do a little extra side work. The non retina kills it for me. Atleast I was able to test the form factor with the air and now I'm certain the 12 will work.

That is the open secret of dealing with the free inventory that arrives each day at Apple stores. I've done this with the last several iPhone releases. Spot what you want? Buy online, go to the store and walk right by the waiting line.

That currently is not a option via Best Buy. It shows April 23- May 8th for shipping to house. Id like to get from BB at this point because of the 10% movers coupon. That saves $130 bills. Almost a no brainer.

Apple Store. Whats wrong with buying from the Apple Store?

Nothing at all, i buy from there a lot. Best Buy, and the Apple store are RIGHT NEXT to each other by me. With the 10% movers coupon i have laying around i would save 10% and i am a BB Elite member. Meaning i would get about $50 in Gift Certificates from buying it.

So.... Whats wrong with saving $130 cash, and getting a free $50 BB gift card which will pay for a case or USB C cables i need for free lol?:D;)

So technically I'm saving $200, are you saying i should not save $200?

Saving money is the right thing to do. Now after having spent a two days salary on Apple Watch 2 Bands and a rMB I should definitely take my own advice.

I make that kind of money in 36 minutes, so there!

Nice cant hate!!! I wish I only needed a half an hour to generate a grand.

----------

Still...cheapest Apple Watch plus cheapest rMB = $1,648. I wish I made that much in 4 days.

----------

Wow.

In NYC, I don't make alot of money. I struggle here just like everyone else. The only reason I was able to purchase is because I planned WAAAAY ahead and I actually needed a new rMB with additional storage for work reasons.

and I make them under 20 seconds..

wait... we aren't just a pointlessly bragging about stuff we can't prove on the internet?

I meant mine as an it's a lot of money to me type thing. I spent WAAAAY more because of family and then I needed a new computer for work specifically and the watch well ok that was me splurging a bit. Either way. I'll be eating ramen for the next month so I can get my regular bank account back to where it should be. Oh yeah and no new clothes for the next 6 months. I have to make trade offs.

Man what a cluster *****! This is all rather disappointing. I guess we are somewhat used to this. It just seems to be getting worse each new release.

I learned my lesson last iPhone launch to never order from anyone but Apple. I ordered from ATT right when preorders went live for the 6 and got screwed, while people who ordered after me on Apple got delivery day. This time I ordered right through Apple right when they went live and have delivery to my house for this Wednesday. Apple should initially just restrict their new items to them for at least a month and that would eliminate this.

Yep. That's why I didn't order from Best Buy for this. Apple always gives priority to those who order from them over carrier or electronics stores. I think that will apply even more so to a new product that's in limited supply

Only reason i wanted to go with BB is because of the 10% i would save which would be like $130. Plus i am a Elite member so i would basically get $50 in gift cards from buying the MBR and could use that on accessories.

Actually currently the Apple site says June 2nd for shipping. Best Buy shows April 22nd- May 8th if that means anything.

Since you have some experience with this practice- what would you say is the best way to keep track of new inventory? Should I periodically proceed to checkout in the apple store and check what the "Personal Pickup Availability" page shows for each store? Or is there a better way to be alerted to an available Macbook that I want to purchase online and pickup at the store...

unless I am missing something, for the new macbook for every store it says ship to store with the date being June 2nd. I doubt they will be showing for day of pick up any time soon.

That is what I will be doing for the next few days...checking store pickup.

So if I select this option at checkout and the stores get them in stock before June 2. I'll basically have one reserved and won't have to check for stock everyday?
