rMini owners how is the multitasking on the rMini? On my 1st Gen Mini it's been getting pretty annoying that a lot of apps have to reload when switching between them. Like if I'm reading a book in iBooks, then go to look at something in Safari, when I go back to iBooks the book sometimes starts back at the beginning. Not sure if it's due to iOS 7 or lack of RAM. I know the Safari reloading tabs is mostly because of iOS 7 so hopefully 7.1 fixes that. The multitasking is so much smoother on my 5S compared to the 1st Gen Mini, just wondering if the rMini is comparable at multitasking.

I had the original briefly and the rmini is way better ( could be better but still huge upgrade). I go between apps all of the time.

my apps don't need to reload and they keep their place. there is a slight lag until you can use the app but other than that it is fine.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen some videos and it seems accurate. What's the difference between the 200 and 300?

Only difference is the shape of the pens body. I have the 300 and it feels great in the hand.

I went to the Apple Store and Best Buy today and looked at all the Rminis they both had out and I couldn't find a flaw in any of them. No IR, ghosting, or anything. They looked absolutely perfect. The only reason I don't get one is that I am content with my Air. I think we mostly hear from the people with problems so it's not as bad as it seems. I would have thought I was going to see IR on a couple at least in BB or Apple Store but they were all great.

When I had my Air, there was just the slightest yellowish tint on the left side. So slight I sometimes wondered if I was imagining it. With my rMini, I couldn't imagine up a display problem if I tried. The cleanest, most even display I've ever had.

I just sold my 32 gig iPAd 2 on Craigslist yesterday for $300

I still have my 1st gen iPad mini 16 gig, but I need more space and ios 7 runs awful on it

Best Buy has the 32 gig Mini Retina on sale for $450 this week, im tempted to get it soon!

That's strange, as I just purchased one new and it's blazing fast on iOS 7 (Fall 2013 version, non-retina mini, with iOS 7 factory installed, manufactured in December). We have an iPad mini retina as well in my house, and it is still fast compared to it as far as running iOS 7.

My thoughts on the retina iPad mini

You finally decided to get it. How do you like it? :D

It's too soon to come to a final decision for me but so far I enjoy it. I haven't noticed any screen issues others have had. My screen seems to be fine. I do notice it's a bit more washed out than my 5S but it doesn't bother me. I haven't really got any apps that are tablet specific. Everything is just what I use on my phone but it's nice to have a bigger screen. iOS 7 doesn't seem that bad on it. I get some keyboard lag when typing fast and when you 4 finger swipe to the home screen it glitches.

My main use is just consumption and reading. I come from reading physical books so I will have to adjust to reading a book on a LCD screen. I'm torn between iBooks and Marvin. I like Marvin's features but it doesn't sync highlights or notes which is disappointing. It's nice watching tv shows or movies on but I can't quite find a comfortable way to hold the device while laying in bed. It gets a little annoying trying to hold up the iPad for long periods of time like that. Before I would rest my MBA and watch movies while lying down. If you are resting it on your lap it's fine though. Browsing seems to be fine. There are some sites I have to do some zooming and scrolling (The Verge).

Unfortunately it bothers me as I also have a 5s. I've tried various things to get around it and I'd like to upgrade sans the better device. BUT no matter how many I've looked at in stores and one I tried, they all display that washed out look.

I looked at the new Samsung 8.4 Pro tablet yesterday, to me it was the same look. I'll say with my first gen Mini I don't feel that way whatsoever.

I bought the white retina iPad mini (wifi-only) with 128GB storage. I purchased it at the Best Buy online store on the day after Christmas and got it in the mail by January 6th - a few hours after I got my rMBP in the mail!

At first, I never thought I would own an iPad because I didn't like how big the originals were. After I put my order for my rMBP on Christmas Day, I was looking through the Apple site and by chance noticed that they had the retina version of the mini! Perfect time to get myself an iPad (since all my apple devices that I have are retina anyway - iPhone and rMBP, why not complete the set?).

I ordered it the next day because I had to think it over, and once I woke up, my decision was made. I originally wanted the retina iPad mini solely for the purpose of using it as an e-reader. Prior to this, I was reading books through the iBooks app on my iPhone and I purchased a LOT of books, so it got me thinking. I wanted an e-reader, but I didn't want to have to buy the books all over again because it accumulated a lot of money over the months, so I figured, get the retina iPad mini.

It's the perfect device for reading; the size is perfect, the screen is amazing, it's light - just everything about it fits my needs for it perfectly. The only reason why I purchased the highest storage available (as expensive as it was, especially after having made a $3500 purchase the day before) is simply for the fact that, apart from my rMBP, it will be my go to device for gaming, watching videos/movies (like Netflix, YouTube, and the movies I have stored in the videos app), reading, etc. I absolutely love this device. I don't regret purchasing it, and above all, I haven't noticed any of the problems that other rMini users have reported such as image retention, yellow tint, etc.

Everything about my rMini is perfect and has been since I first opened it from the box. The rMBP and the rMini were both late Christmas presents for myself and it's by far the BEST Christmas gift I've ever received!!

I bought a 64GB retina iPad mini today and I'm very pleased with it. I had the last model iPad before the Air, but sold it when I bought my MBA thinking I wouldn't need it. However for reading books, taking quick notes and writing on the go I have to admit an iPad is more convenient when on the go.

Is this your first tablet? Maybe you need some time to get used to the experience.

Was this really necessary

I'm still in the deciding stages right now as to which ipad I want to buy, but I'm leaning very heavily towards the rmini.

Between the iPad mini and what. The iPad Air I assume?

Yeah, between mini, rmini and air, although getting an earlier refurbished model is something that had crossed my mind too.
