Quoth the OP: MyWi "On Demand" upgrade. Worth it?

NOT worth it for me. In fact, I can no longer use MiWi without "On Demand" being installed and mucking things up - which is ludicrous. I had to uninstall and reboot in order to get iTether working again (the reboot is crucial). When I reinstall MyWi, On Demand gets installed as well, and iTether is again rendered useless. The good news is that IOS 4.3 will be out soon, which will feature the built-in hot spot - so I won't have to lament my $20 loss much longer. Even better news is that TetherMe ($2) has apparently already been updated to work with it, and word on the street is that a jailbreak exploit has been found for 4.3.

I'm indeed curious if ANY other blutooth devices / services work with the new MIWi / On Demand combo installed. In the meantime, I'll use PdaNet in trial mode if I need to create a hot spot.

A simple fix for the "stuck on handshaking" problem: Go into MyWi settings and select "Clear All Settings" on both the iPhone and iPad. After setting up MyWi again, the On Demand feature should work again.

Is MyWi 5.0 able to work by setting up a hotspot on your iPhone to connect your iPad to, without the need for On Demand?

Or do you must have On Demand, to be able connect your iPad to your iPhone?

Hopefully MyWi will be updated and actually work (or at least allow iTether to work), otherwise I'm out $20.00.

I joined the legion of greenpois0n Absinthe A5 jailbreakers on both my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1, and bought MyWi OnDemand only to have it not work at all.

I did write their support, and got the following response:

There is currently an issue with the OnDemand option if one of the devices is at ios5+. It will be fixed with an update soon. The WiFi connection should work. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your interest in Intelliborn,

That might have been nice to note somewhere on the website or the Cydia listing. Irritating.

We are working on a MyWi OnDemand update for 5.0.1. Thanks! (21 Jan)

Problem handshaking

Using OnDemand, my iPad 2 recognizes my iPhone 4S and puts a check mark next to the name of my iPhone. Though it is "not connected". Basically my iPhone never connects and is keeps saying "Now discoverable". It never asks to verify the pairing. Anybody know a fix.

I've tried:
Reset All Setting
Uninstall both (with a reboot before and after)

OnDemand doesn't work with ios 5 yet.
