Well it's not over yet, but...uh...Could have told you so.

It's the National Association of BROADCASTERS convention. It's for Pros only...Duh...

Anyone expecting any sort of consumer announcment was just foolish.

all of what he was looking for are considered professional products by apple....

This is clearly an event that is still in progress.

Or atleast, that is what I would assume since Engadget is continuing to report on stuff right now...

Ok it's clear to me now.

DVD Studio Pro 5 is not a part of FCS anymore. My guess is there will be a seperate program announced this upcoming week.

DVD SP 5 will add full HD DVD and Blu-ray authoring support and offer perhaps Dolby and DTS surround sound encoding options.

There is no need for FCP Extreme. You have the ProRes codec and IO-HD which gives you access to 4k editing.

Those that thought MBP and Cinema Displays were going to be announced need to wake up. This was Pro event via invite. Not an Apple public tradeshow.

Nice upgrade and I agree with the decision (I'm guessing) to pull DVD SP 5 from the bundle. Some people "just" need the authoring tools. Making them pay $1299 didn't make much sense IMO.

..but, as always the interface for macrumorslive.com is amazing and needless to say every other apple event for the past few years has been me and my eyes glued to macrumors

thanks arn and crew for a great job almost all the time

same here, thanks

one days soon, my first mac will come

I guess Apple missed the memo last year with the 17" MBP

... I'm just pre-empting the stupid comments that are sure to follow on this thread about the lack of consumer product updates at NAB, even though lots of people always seem to think there will be and get let down year after year. ;)

So FCS isn't due until next month (according to Engadget) which makes me wonder why the Apple store is even closed at all. Do they usually close it down for product announcements that are that far off?

I don't expect any consumer products to be discussed at NAB but I wonder if the iMacs and Minis will see quiet updates once the store is back up, given how overdue they are for it. Does seem curious that it's down for an event like NAB.

Edit: just came back up while I was posting. No new non-pro stuff. Oh well, Tuesday is only two days from now. ;)
