The one thing I want is file management. Be able to download files through safari or email, add files directly from a computer (not using something like airsharing), view, organize, or email them to others. My biggest beef.

I have to echo this sentiment. I want to be able to surf the web and be able to download files from it onto my iPhone. From there, I want to be able to access and use these files and attach them to e-mails and what not.

This is a 3rd party app for this (Folders), but it is very restrictive and you have limited access to the file. So, basically, you can download and view them, but that's it. I want to be able to unzip large files and then use them.

That, and it I can sneak one more in: cut and paste. I have been running into so many situations lately where it would have been of great use.

Things I dislike about the iPhone:
- Ppl complain that they can't hear me.
- My area has full 3G coverage, and I still get "Call Failed."
- I miss so many calls because the ring is so low.
- I can send pictures by e-mailing through #######@mms.att.net--it gets annoying to exit out of the text msg'ing and open e-mail app; then, I have to locate the contact, attach the photo, and I'll finally be able to send a picture. :)

Besides all that, I love my iPhone <3!

Just one thing??????

It's a great toy, but a lousy phone - useless text messaging capability (no ability to delete individual messages, no forwarding, no MMS) which I can only assume reflects its US design. Any other phone that had such abysmal text capability wouldn't last a week in the European market.

Poor text and call notifications. The weak ring tones and poor vibrate function have resulted in numerous missed calls.

No call divert settings for out of range, busy, etc. (just call forwarding)

No automatic time zone correction of the clock.

Methinks I'd have been better off with an iPod Touch and a proper phone!

It's funny you say that because if that's how you feel why dnt you stick to your crackberry or whatever other crap google or sprint phone. It's a fact that this "American" cmpany has revolutionized the industry with such an innovative product. You Europeans didn't figure it out--Apple did.

The SDK.

As for just the phone itself, the right speaker not working :D. But seriously, it's kinda off balance...wonder why they couldn't have made it even...and put the mic somewhere else...like in the speaker like their notebooks.

I always wonder why people feel the need to be so rude when others are simply expressing an opinion. The fact remains that the iPhone has very poor SMS capability (and no MMS at all) and it's not unreasonable to conclude that this reflects its US design where I gather that 'txting' isn't as widely used as it is in Europe. So yes, it's certainly an innovative product, but far from being a perfect one.

I travel a lot and mine automatically updates the time zone of the clock.

Does this work for you in Europe, or just in the US?

External speaker isnt loud when it rings or enough when i play music through it.

It is fine on speakerphone with a phonecall tho.

Dont really care for the electronic keyboard.

The only time this happens to me is when I hit the home button without tapping the END virtual button. Unless I'm wrong, I think as long as you're touching END after the phone call ends, this won't happen....you'd think it would also time-out if the user doesn't touch anything and the remote caller ends the call...

I think you're placing your hand over the sensor so the screen shuts off.

Considering Nokia is the largest mobile phone company in the world, vodafone is the largest mobile carrier in the world.... i'd say Europe has it all figured out quite nicely. don't make the mistake of thinking because it's number 1 in the US that, that is replicated elsewhere. I agree it's a VERY US centric design.

Oh and for reference... we don't have sprint here....

+1 The UI is great but texting was better on my Nokia 3210 (from 1999)

I don't hate nothing about the iPhone...to all the people saying "no mms or cut and paste" etc try finding a phone that has 16GB internal memory, has a built in iPod and has better games/apps then the iPhone

Can't remove the Apple APPs.........

Notes ( can't sync, absolutely useless to me )
Weather ( not accurate compared to APPs I have bought )
Stocks ( Bloomberg is MUCH better )
Contacts ( why bother when its in your phone APP )

What a waste of space

Not going to talk about features that the iPhone is lacking .... the one thing i dislike about the iPhone is the fact that the Mail app isn't working correctly.

:apple: KrayzieKray :apple:

One thing that never gets mentioned that really gets on my nerves is the location of the refresh icon in Safari.

ie Browsing a thread like this, getting to the bottom, then tapping the top to go to the top, refreshing and then having to scroll all the way down again. Pain in the rear.

Either move it to the bottom or give us a jump to the bottom option

That I can only use it with ATT. I switched from Sprint for the iPhone. I love it. However, ATT's 3G network leaves a LOT to be desired compared to Sprints. Also, text messaging. Again, I like the app, but I HATE the fact that ATT charges $30 per month for unlimited on the family plan. That is ridiculously over priced.

Overpriced AT&T plans. BOHICA
No copy & paste.
Weak vibrate.
Speakerphone could be louder.

The main app-level UI that doesn't allow any customization. I'd like to be able to group certain things into folders - that way I could cut things down to maybe 2 or 3 screens of icons, and also BE ABLE TO FIND THINGS EASIER!!

Consistent battery indicator - seriously, folks, this shouldn't be the mess it is now. Maybe if we had an accurate battery indicator - that also included percentage instead of just an icon, people wouldn't be so dissatisfied with their battery life, because they would KNOW HOW MUCH CHARGE WAS LEFT. I think that's half the problem right now...it's like the gas tank in my truck, it shows near full for a long time, then drops rapidly.

Email won't go landscape - it would be a whole lot easier to read some emails.

Switch Location Services back to pre-2.1 - when I want to turn on location services from within another app, this used to work great. The 2.1 change is like something Micro$oft would do - i.e., a brainfart.

Oh, sorry, did you say just one?

Don't get me wrong, overall I love the iPhone, sooooo much better than the Treo I was saddled with for so long.
