Same here. But my friends, all educated folk in respectable jobs type "txt style" on MSN messenger. And frankly it drives me nuts! Okay I see the point for phones maybe if you're in a rush, but when you can type 30-50wpm you do not need to remove the vowels from an IM conversation. Unless that's how they hit 30-50wpm :D

Me too...given the character limit, I will use abbreviations like "wtf" or "lol", but I never, ever use crap like "u" or "bcuz" or "4"

And when I use abbreviations, I use them when neccesary. I don't put a "lol" in between every word.

I occasionally see e-mails and IMs at work typed out txt style, it makes me want to cringe. OK, if you email your friends like that, fair enough, but at work? C'mon....are you hoping for a good review because you increased your productivity because you save 4 seconds when typing out an e-mail?

I cant even read text message talk. Maybe it is because I do not send text messages much. Like less than 10 a YEAR.

Turned over a human skull to the Coroner's office a few years back.

1. i always type out text messages with full words, no abbreviations or whatever, unless the character limit is a factor in a lengthy text.

2. well the other day i spent like two hours on Youtube watching videos of cars, such as the BMW m5, the Carrera GT and the like...back to the point, today on my long boring drive home from school i pretended like i was driving a manual car though i have NO idea how to:D:eek: haha don't hate on me, i want to learn someday how to drive a manual.

Is it wrong that I have very little respect for people that cant drive stick? If you cant use the third pedal, YOU CANT DRIVE! Am I the only one here?

I hated COBOL. I'm so glad I don't have to look at COBOL code anymore.
I liked COBOL.

When working for the Army's computer research command, I once wrote a program in COBOL than analyzed other COBOL programs for complexity. :)

All I know is that if you don't know how to drive a double clutch transmission, then you really haven't driven a stick.

:D

Wait, are you Tim Allen's sidekick on the tv show "Home Improvement" ? And of course, the Ace Hardware spokesperson.
LOL no I don't wear flannel

Agree completely. If it isn't a stick, it ain't a real car. :D
I kept a 77 Chevy Luv PU running for 7 years that was a stick the thing held together with coathangers, zip ties, duct tape, and bubblegum when I couldn't find anymore parts for it.

Been through the Rubicon twice in my old rock crawler.

Was able to pull off 3 speeding tickets, 1 exhibition of speed, 1 speed contest, and tons of fix-it tickets before the age of 20.

Drift a freeway on-ramp.

Hell yeah I love the Rubicon! Anyway, back to the list...

This thread has exploded in the two weeks of it's life. Since this thread is basically nothing more than a vessel to compliment yourself, this truly shows that people like to talk about themselves more than any other topic of conversation. Dale Carnegie would be proud.

I only drove autos for awhile until I learned manual, the transition wasn't that bad. I had to teach myself which made the transition tougher, no one in my family knows how to drive manual. But that comes with an added benefit, no one in my family ever asks to borrow my car ;)
