I liked COBOL.

When working for the Army's computer research command, I once wrote a program in COBOL than analyzed other COBOL programs for complexity. :)

All I know is that if you don't know how to drive a double clutch transmission, then you really haven't driven a stick.

:D

You gotta specify which double clutch transmission, the Volkswagen DSG transmission has dual clutches but is completely automatic ;)

The DSG GTI is a blast to drive though, still not as much of a blast as my 6 speed GTI though :D

Went from a problematic 4wd passat 07 to the 09 tsi golf. 1.4l turbo and super ftw!

Something like this. :)

It is quite easy to drive Manual although if you have been driving Automatic all your life then IDK how the transition is:eek:

haha well i've been driving for a little less than a year...

Is it wrong that I have very little respect for people that cant drive stick? If you cant use the third pedal, YOU CANT DRIVE! Am I the only one here?

i don't know what to say besides that i completely disagree, whether someone drives an automatic car or a manual shouldn't be the deciding factor of if you will respect them.

wow  what to say..... what were you driving when you were caught at 175 mph? I managed 165mph once in a Mitsubishi Evolution IX, but there were no cops around.

I was in a 1997 Z-28. All bolt ons. Dynod 305 hp the wheels. I put on a blower after that. I wanted to get to redline in 5th gear and then see if it could sustain the speed in 6th gear. It did! Only barely. I now have a turbocharged 2006 GTO but the turbo bearing is wasted and I'm waiting on a rebuild.

I helped cut someone's head off. (Legally, in an OR, with a surgical team. The person is now cryonically suspended.)

bobfitz14 was the one driving Auto not me :)

though i have little experience i don't have find anything negative about driving an automatic transmission...care to change my mind?:p i'm curious why manual is greatly favored over automatic, though that just may be the MR community who favors it.

I havnt read back through the pages but....

I fainted once while in (not on!) the toilet.... i ended up hitting my head on the toilet seat on the way down and cracked it... we had to buy a new one.

Automatic is considered cheating. Manual is tougher to drive because you have to be concentrating on many things as once.

My philosophy on books:

"If it's good enough to read, it will be made into a movie."

Did not know what a peep was until I read this thread.

I have a 3 GHz PowerBook G4.
attachment.php

I have taken apart the same iBook G4 at least 50 times:eek:

This is something my friend did:

He had his PowerBook G4 1.25 GHz fixed for free out of warranty because he had a 3rd party hard drive in it.

I think I mentioned that I had dropped off my PB at the Apple store for service
and they indeed said the system board was bad. It is a $310 upgrade
and would also correct the memory slot issue as well as t he video
banding. I received a call from the repair depot and they said the
system board was bad but they could not repair it until the laptop had
a stock Apple hard drive and that increased the cost by $600 so the
bill was going to be $900. I told them to just send it back and I
would put the old drive back in it and resend it. They were OK with
that but when I got it home I saw that they had indeed wiped my
existing drive and reloaded Leopard. When it finished it's boot
sequence I did not see the banding and then I checked the system
memory and it was back to 1.5GB. I have not had time to go back and
research the system board serial numbers

I have modified a few of my windows and made a installer/uninstaller http://tinyurl.com/blackwindowmod
