1a) I know what it's like to have Tourette Syndrome.
1b) I don't have Tourette Syndrome.
Unless 1b = true, 1a = false.
Understanding/feeling a strong urge to blurt something out does not equal knowing what having Tourette's Syndrome is really like.

--Had sex in a park

Is that really so unusual? Everyone should do it at least once in their lifetime.

It's called tardive Tourette. It's an extremely rare withdrawal reaction to certain meds. From what I understand, it's nearly identical to the actual thing...

In my case, it wasn't blurting out anything, IIRC that's rare even among people with the actual Tourette syndrome. It involved body movements more than anything, which I couldn't control.

Ooooh, okay. I know what you mean now. Without the elaboration it came across a little differently. And yes, complex vocal tics are a much more rare.

I've had a drug-induced dystonic reaction/ akathisia caused by an anti-nausea drug (metoclopramide). It's in big red letters in all my medical files now to never EVER give me that crap or anything similar. It was beyond uncomfortable bordering on frightening. I (completely unintentionally) flung my arm out and smacked my doctor in the midst of it too. I apologized profusely but maybe she had it coming* for giving me that poison, especially as I've found out so many people have bad reactions to it.
So I guess on some small level I understand too.

*I don't mean that but I'll leave it for effect.

That doesn't sound too great either :(. Dystonia alone is a lot to handle, but with akathisia as well, if it was anything like some of the descriptions I've read, then wow... I'm sorry to hear that...

And ouch  :) (with your doctor), well hopefully she made a note not to prescribe that stuff as often to her patients :)

Saved many people's lives. I'm 20.

Hospital? Me too (ER), I'm 19 :D

EDIT: Nice screen name, lol.

Well...I've driven underage (several times), but I'm sure some other members on here have done the same thing. ;)

My mom let me drive when I was 13 and as soon as we pulled out an undercover cop pulled me over...she got taken to jail, lol. It's fun to look back on... True story.

-Saved two dogs lives.
- Was on the winning team of the 2007/8 UK junior American football championship.
-Own one of the fastest cars with a 1.4 engine with insurance that costs less than a 1.6:cool:.
-Waited and am still waiting an unholy time for a quad core imac.
-Nearly got arrested by the police, shot by a soldier whilst on a dam a couple thousand feet above sea level at 3am whilst taking pictures.( what i do in the name of art) I also recently found out that a herd of bulls live in the same area. On a return trip I got hunted down by a donkey.
-The only person in my college with a mac of 2000+ students.

Has anyone here been into space? That is really the only one that would impress me.

There was a comedian doing a bit once about how an astronaut can shut down anyone...people are sitting around bragging, arguing etc...and the astronaut says "This one time when I was orbiting the Earth...."..heh...would be cool :D

I've been to space...twice.

Somehow I doubt astronauts hang out here ;)

Well except maybe that crazy lady with the diapers and duct tape.

I have realized an affordable trip to space won't happen in my lifetime. 200,000 bucks for 5min barely over the line isn't worth it IF they ever get it going.

Just because Im an astronaut does not mean im not interested in Apple products, and related rumors. Im actually posting this from space right now. Oh, and I can see you from here. Please stop touching yourself. And thats some crazy porn youre watchin'. What is that woman doing to that donkey? Oh, sick dude!

You know how I know you are full of it? It's a guy and a sheep...HAH! Loser...er....I mean.....crap.

I'm actually travelling through space at a little over 100,000 kph right now. Wheeee! Unfortunately, so are 100% of the other posters here.. :)

(p.s. if you want to really go "into space", you can go up to about 21 Km on MiG 31s for about 10,000 euros or so. Pricey, but at least you don't need to be a millionaire!)

I want to float around...have time to get over the space sickness and enjoy things. Not get a few minutes "technically" over the line. The 5min floating that Virgin Galactic promises to offer would be gone before you know it between trying to take pictures and keep all the other people's arms out of your face. Don't get me wrong I'd go if it were free but no way I would go into debt for it.
