I have a policy that prevents me from naming things I'll only keep for a year. My 3G will be sold this weekend to make room for the 3GS. Next summer the 3GS will be sold when I buy the 3GSX, 3G Type R, or whatever the hell they decide to call it.

Well this is going to be dumb.

My GF's pet name is Monkey. (IDK why, it's just what it is.) I bought her a green iPhone case and this is her wallpaper. (1st attached.)
Her phone is called "Monkey Fone." I'm thinking about changing that to a famous monkey's name. Any suggestions? Ham?

I'm Penguin. (IDK why, it just is what it is.) My case is orange. I'm going to change that to blue. The second attached image. Any famous Penguin names?

Yea, how about Pete the Penguin named after my school mascot (Youngstown State University is the only U.S. college/university to have a penguin as a mascot- pretty cool!)...just a thought :D

From FF8?

From Final Fantasy in General.

All of the gear that connects to my network has a Final Fantasy Related Name

PC Gaming Desktop = Bahamut
Mac mini = Shiva
MacBook = Ifrit
DirecTV HD DVR = Odin
Xbox 360 = Cactuar
Internet Browsing PC = Leviathan
NAS = Atomos

and something else on the network is named Valefor, no idea what it is though hmm.

Am I the only one here who used to be a sysadmin?

All of my hardware had Star Wars names in college.
The software company I worked for had Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings/Hobbit) names for all of the servers and PCs.

Currently...
MBP: Galactica
Airport: Caprica
iPod Touch: Helo
iPod Video: Apollo

And my coming iPhone 3G S... well, I haven't decided yet.
Maybe Starbuck, maybe Saul, maybe Boomer...

Lots of BSG possibilities left.

Mine is called "iPhone 3G". :cool: :D

Same here. Its successor will be called "iPhone 3GS" ... My wife's phone will be called "iPhone" simply to differentiate the two when they're both connected in iTunes.

What an adorable little baby. What's his name?
Carlos.

So if it starts ringing at the dinner table..."Not at the table, Carlos!"

HAHAHAHA

Is this thread serious?

I thought it was silly too until I remembered that all my computers have fish names so I can find them on the network.

My MacBook = Yellowfin
Wifes Air = Flounder
Server = Snapper
Kids Computer = Guppy

I've also had other computers like that too (mako, sunfish, cuda).

I guess I could call it "Minnow".
