I've done this and so far it has solved the specific problem of playback quitting after five minutes in both Video Explorer and NAStify.

What are you doing? adding 'keepalive = 0' to smb.conf ?
Changing the config is difficult for us using certain devices because the config is overwritten on reboot.
SFTP is supported, just enter public ip and public port to access the remote server via SFTP and it's done !
Struggling with the syntax to get onto my server.
Have tried the following for server address:
sftp://username:password@server.xx.com:22/~
sftp://username:password@server.xx.com
sftp://server.xx.com:22/~
sftp://server.xx.com
Also tried the public IP as the server address. Any ideas?
In address field, just enter server.xx.com without anything else ! You can also enter the public IP address instead of course !
For the port, you can leave it empty and enter your login/password in the corresponding fields ! Be sure to select the "SFTP" protocol (white letters are the selected choice).

Any way to save a favourite folder within the server?
Favorites will come in a future update ! I'll just have a little bit of rest after upcoming update as doing such an application alone only on my free time is making me tired

Watched a 2 hour movie from my NAS using the Beta. Not a single issue. App is getting awesome. It took the place of Video Explorer on my top shelf.
My biggest wish list at this point:
o Bring the UI in.
o Make a delete option.

I am having the same issues. I am using a WD My Book Live and it finds all of my files without issue but playvack stops after 5-10 minutes. Any planned updates?
I use a similar device: WD My Cloud. The beta fixed this problem. Im surprised its not available in the app store yet. I would imagine it would be any day now.
Using NAStify with WD My Cloud. Updated today. Trying to play a .WTV file, which plays video, however audio is silent. Swipe down for settings. Audio tract is "disable", change to Track 1 "English", then vid will play with audio and video, BUT the settings are still at the top of the screen. When trying to go back to full screen playback, jumps back to file listing. This has been occurring since inception.

- SMB/CIFS playback was crashing after few minutes
- SMB/CIFS playback was not working well for files > 4GiB
- SFTP login issues when using special characters
- Problems with subtitles/audio tracks view solved

- You can now save user/password for discovered SMB/CIFS servers
- Subtitles only need to have the same prefix than video files to be detected

AC3/DTS is not available for people in USA until I manage to find an agreement with Dolby ...
I have not used the updated app but my issue is after about 5!minutes of playback I can not pause or ff any of my MP4 videos on my NAS. Anyone else with this issue.
Install the update, it'll solve the crash after 5min and will certainly improve other things !
