Meh. I’ve already added a calendar entry to cancel Apple TV+ before the free trial runs out in a few weeks. I don’t want to get stuck paying for it. I’ve had it for over a year due to free trials from Apple products I bought, but I’ve rarely found anything worth watching. TV+ is just like Amazon’s Prime Video in that both show tons of shows, but they are mostly for rent or purchase. The free with subscription content isn’t worth the money to me.

I instantly thought "I feel like this would end up having a bit of a Rick and Morty vibe" (milder, of course) and then I saw Dan Harmon's name. Definitely looking forward to it lol, love the comics.

They had the exact literal same concern about Ted Lasso being an adaptation from a TV show. I heard that literally same concern about the Geico Caveman adaptation.

And we all know how well Ted Lasso turned out. Apple is doing well.
Oh I am not knocking Apple. They are not dummies. They know how to get the right creative people & give them total freedom. I am just sayin that on the surface, it looks like a one note kinda thing. So thats why I made the Geico caveman reference. But if anyone can pull it off, it will be Apple.

This looks cute. I'll give it a shot.

As for people saying "this looks dumb, fire Tim Cook" etc... I don't know what to tell you.

At least you're not on a Netflix forum. Netflix launches 700 shows every year.

Not 700 episodes... 700 entire series.

700 series, and only 2 or 3 are worth watching

And that was my point.

Apple releases far fewer series... and not everyone will like them all.

But Apple has had a pretty good track record.

I just get so tired of these comments "this looks terrible... I need to set a calendar reminder to cancel ATV+"... etc

OMG! I LOVE this!!! Where has it been? I feel cheated, not seeing it until now. Wow... Love it!!!
In college, I got into an argument over whether 'aliens' would be like us. I kept saying 'Why would they?', and so many people just couldn't get around the whole 'speciescentric' (My Favorite Martian?) view of what a 'non-Earth' alien would/could be. When Alien cae out, people were so shocked at the thought of an alien with acidic 'blood'. Why not? Now researchers are looking into aliens being microscopic, and that we have already been invaded. But the idea of anthropomorphic aliens who are fascinated at how we live is just the kind of interesting that I need. I keep wondering how an alien would see our world. I'm sure they would be really disgusted/surprised/horrified/impressed/stunned...

Yikes @ all the negativity on here. These comics are absolutely brilliant and I’m sure Nathan will do a great job with the show. Glad he’s getting this level of recognition.

I know, right!

I used to play a mental game, trying to see the world through 'different eyes'.

I cringe when people ask, (because it's not an ask), 'How are you?'. They. Don't. Care! It's a knee jerk guilt driven blurted string of letters that coincidentally make words that can be spoken. They really don't care, and if you respond, they are surprised, and you are labeled as being 'threatening'. Take it from me...

It's a weird world, if you look at the absurdity of it all. But sometimes I can laugh my butt off when it really gets bizarre... I should apologize to some of the people I have laughed at, but, nah... They added to the wonder of life... Thank you!

However good the comic strip is or how good the show’s writers are. I wouldn’t hold much hope for this. Simply because comic strips make a poor foundation for a show. I can’t think of any comic strip to TV Show or movie which turned out good.

Like when they tried to adapt Baby Blues to TV, this will not go well. Panel humour simply doesn't work well.

Thank God Bill Waterson kept the rights to Calvin & Hobbes. (I do wish he'd pick an IP 'heir')

Yeah, Dilbert sucked as a cartoon. Yuck... But by that time, I had already been long ago weaned off of it. My life started to strongly emulate that strip, and the jokes were not funny any more. (Yeah, I know. I can't wait for the Alzheimer's fueled flashbacks. I wonder if LSD would make them not show up at all?)

Nathan Pyle will write a cute episode about how uteruses should not get healthcare
Yeah, I was really disappointed when I found out that he and his wife had attended anti-abortion rallies, and that he ignored questions on whether or not he'd donated to anti-abortion organizations.

The comics are disarmingly cute, but it sickens me to know that the proceeds of this show might also contribute to the persecution of women.

Kinda hoped Apple was better than this. I wish there was a way to get a comment from Apple TV execs on why they've decided to work with him.
