Agreed. If you have cable, odds are you will watch the Super Bowl on TV. At the very least, you are not a potential new customer. If you don't have cable, I really don't think the ability to watch TV on your iPad will make you want to pay for cable. It will just make you want to watch TV on your iPad without cable.
An unexpected consequence may be that NBC realizes how many cord cutters are out there begging for a non-cable solution.
----------
A better experiment: see how many people would be willing to pay 99 cents to watch this live coverage. Presumably many of the cord cutters out there might want to do this. Like they say on Facebook, THE ANSWER MAY SURPRISE YOU!
Haha, correction, many others have DirecTV because of sports. Cable is so years ago.![]()
Airplay works on the NBC sports app so you will be able to push it to your Apple TV
About time NBC CBS and ABC as well as the rest are putting it to Cable
This is funny. NBC is owned by Comcast. ABC is owned by Disney. CBS Corp (formerly Viacom) is the only one standing alone. In no way, shape, or form is anyone putting it to cable. Not yet anyway.
The NFL is so stuck in the past with their 'exclusive' deal with Verizon. Why don't they pay attention to what MLB has done and make it widespread to all devices for subscription fees?
Still others have DISH Network because they don't want any part of anything owned by Rupert Murdoch
I don't understand the absence of Apple TV option, and yeah, I know I can mirror the iPad or MacBook.
Seahawks fan.![]()

Finally. I've been waiting a long time for an app that shows me commercials!Verizon Wireless and the NFL plan to introduce a Super Bowl Stadium app that will offer "exclusive in-stadium video content" that includes commercials and replays shown from four camera angles.
You bought an iPad mini 3???? No wonder you're rooting for the hapless Seahawks.
wish it were avail as an Apple TV option as well. good move for them promotion wise, hope their streaming services can handle the extra load...
I don't see what the big deal is: this is just a broadcast TV show.
Of course it should "be available" on iPad, just like any other broadcast TV show is.
However, Bill Bellicheat, Shady Tom Brady & thier New England Deflatriots
shall not now, nor ever, pollute my iPad Mini 3 with thier fetid presence.
GO SEAHAWKS.
That was so comical!
First one's free. Next year, it'll be a $50 pay-per-view.
