I'd like to remove shows/series/etc from my adult profile too, so much junk on there I've got to sift through and will never watch.

I hope that was sarcasm, but in case you don't know, a four-digit PIN has a 10,000 combinations. At 50/day, you are still looking at 200 days to crack the code.
Considering they couldn't do the math to figure it out, I doubt they were joking.

Netflix needs to bring back iTunes billing, need to support AirPlay, and needs to support the Apple TV app. I’m not currently subscribed. I’m waiting for some shows to come back

I hope this feature to be AppleTV feature, not app-dependent one. To enable users to lock whatever app they need, especially iPhotos app :)

No need for grandma's PIN. I busted her watching, 'Hannah Montana' in her bedroom:

„Already watched“ or „remove from list“ button next please. Nothing drives me more nuts than trying a show or rewatching a random episode of a series you already finished before, only to have it appear in the continue watching list forever.

I know you can technically remove it from the activity log but that removes the whole show all together

I thought that used to exist (when I watched using a PC), ever since I've used something else (TV app, etc) I've been missing it. My list is full of things I've already watched, which is pretty dumb.

I also despise the "Watch again" list, Netflix adds a series I've just finished to the front of it... it wouldn't be so bad if it showed the oldest programs first!

This is just a trick to get rid of older iPhones, Apple TV and smart TVs from connecting. As soon as the pin is required all those devices will fail.

I’m a developer, not for Netflix mind you, but this is definitely 95% of why this is happening. They have way to much fragmentation, much of it on legacy devices (which are still functional).

The other 5% is user security.

The next report will be “Netflix Retires Legacy APIs”.

50/50 odds they crack it within the first 100.

I don’t understand your logic here. The PIN is optional and can applied to a specific profile on the account (it’s not a blanket PIN for the entire Netflix login). Plus, the owner of the account will know the PIN to enter on old devices if necessary...

Netflix plays on my old AppleTV just fine, no problems at all, so AirPlay is rather pointless (never tried it). I wonder why you think Netflix should bring iTunes billing back. I went to their website ONCE and maybe I'll visit their website ONCE MORE in a few years time to unsubscribe. It would be stupid for Netflix to pay Apple 30% or 15% of their revenue to save me two visits to the website, and wouldn't want to pay 30% or 15% more for that either.

Yet most parents will use the same PIN on all the steaming platforms which show the numbers being pressed. Entropy is compromised by the need of the human to remember it.

4-Digit PIN isn’t the issue, it’s the fact that a decent app would allow a notification to be sent to the iPad or iPhone to unlock it (maybe even an Apple Watch notification).

Good, I'm tired of my parents changing my password. What kind of a person tries to lock out the person that pays for the account? Do they think I'll just keep paying for it?
?Why are they trying to lock you out?

It would be nice and convenient to have everything i subscribe to in one place. Convenience is pretty much why subscriptions are popular nowadays - people think they’re cheaper than one-off payments because they’re only a few £/$ a month, when they’re actually more expensive in the long run (it’s psychological)

I always thought it was good before.. Extra security is probably needed but a 4 digit pin? That's like an ATM.

I guess Netflix wants to help everyone.

The owner should have control over what is watched.. If it's shared,, then it should a shared responsibility.
