I think it's actually cheaper to just get Comcast and watch everything minus AppleTV & Netflix.

No one gets them all at the same time. People can cycle through them and select what they want to watch. (Also, you forgot the amazing Criterion channel)

The reality, content providers are charging ridiculous pricing for marginal content. Correcting the situation, we need to walk. Otherwise just pay.

Had no idea my basic plan was just 480p! Looks fine to me even on the 58" TV. I'm on that plan because I'm cheap and it's all my network could handle streaming before I increased my bandwidth.

And I don’t have much choice as my family needs something to do while we’ll be stuck inside during a long, cold winter of once again increasing pandemic and civil unrest. Pretty odd move though considering the price of Disney+, which is 4K. Figured that would keep them from increasing the price for some time. I think they know they have everyone by the balls right now. They better at least add some new content.

I just downgraded mine last week. They've downed the bitrate of streams since the pandemic started plus I wanna save some cash. 1080p still looks great. Heck even our UK Freeview channels aren't in HD yet!

Lol @ the 480p "Basic" plan. Might as well call it the "Mobile Streaming" plan, because nobody has 480p TVs anymore. Few people even have 720p TVs.

My LG tv upscales pretty nicely, a lot of lower res video looks good enough for me.

They should, at the very least, increase bitrate significantly because 4-5 Mbit/s 1080p and 14-15 Mbit/s 2160p just doesn't cut it. It's low quality compared to Amazon Video 1080p (8-10 Mbit/s) or 2160p AppleTV+ (24-25 Mbit/s).

I’m just lucky my mom has been paying for the Netflix for years and doesn’t ever remember to cancel it 😂
It gets overwhelming when you are subscribed to various platforms. I do forget that I am paying and throwing my money to services that I don’t use on a monthly basis.

Based on the responses on this thread, everyone has their own preference on the content they like. At the end, you can continue paying or cancel. For me the highest expense that I have for a streaming service is AT&T Tv, I honestly need to rethink and reduce this expense.

Same for me with Youtube TV. However at the moment I have 2 homes plus my RV and having TV service for all three at one price seems reasonable. Selling one house so will re-evaluate after that.

I'm surprised to see so much anti-netflix talk here. Separate from the movies/shows available, much of the original content is so very good, it's been so very worth it for the past 2 years.
You have to be kidding. The content over the last few years has been utterly horrible.

Ok I’m kidding, you got me. Nothing original on Netflix is any good right now. Sorry to try to fool some of you. :)

It still costs 12 EUR in Europe. I'm interested to see if they'll raise the prices here too. I'd cancel immediately, but I created 1 account for my parents, and they are hooked and really like watching the shows, so there's that.
