But they invest in trash. For me I look at Disney + with 4K hdr and honestly laugh at Netflix. The Mandalorian season 2 starts tomorrow. Netflix on the other hand has that Adam Sandler Halloween movie. It’s impressive you know what Netflix cost of business is. Does your crystal ball tell you anything else?
That’s fine. You’re entitled to leave whenever you want. But the reality is most people won’t leave over a $2.00 hike when Netflix continues to invest into its platform.
Not sure why you are opposing my "why does a 480p basic plan still exist" question with a "4K" answer.First its no longer 8.99/mth it's going up or has already.
Secondly, many ppl like myself still have not purchased a 4K TV, or have an AppleTV4 (non-4K), or watch exclusively on their laptops or smartphones that don't have 4K. Many smartphones cannot render 4K natively on their display anyway.
Main reason I haven't purchased a 4K TV ... I don't want Alexa on my TV at all. I don't want any 'smart' function in the TV itself ... I want an exclusive separate box. I've seen many of my friends' Sony, Insignia, LG and other SmartTV's get super slow or chugging for just the menu. I'm not about that.
So unless I can find a 4K TV with no smart function or with a smart OS that I can verifiably fully disable or WIPE in the menu entirely then I don't want it. It's like my cable internet provider forcing it's customers to use their Modem/WiFi as a combo when we'd rather own our own WiFi router - yet still paying more per month for a router we're not wanting to ever use!
I've never paid anything extra to watch anything on Amazon Prime TV other than my annual fee.Amazon prime is junk.
90% of the shows on there you click on to watch, then a "Buy Now" or "Rent Now" with a $ figure appears. Not paying MORE money on top of my Prime Membership, to rent/buy a show/movie/tv episode. Sorry.
At least with Netflix, what you see, is what you get to watch for the fee you are paying.....
Cmon bro. Really. I love Star Wars but your argument is the Mandalorian? But they invest in trash. For me I look at Disney + with 4K hdr and honestly laugh at Netflix. The Mandalorian season 2 starts tomorrow. Netflix on the other hand has that Adam Sandler Halloween movie.
Log in on a computer and you can turn off autoplay. Autoplay is really badly done, so thankfully that option is there.I think I've subconsciously avoided browsing Netflix because their autoplay crap is so aggressive. Net result: I don't open the app much. Other net result: I might cancel because I haven't watched anything on Netflix in months.
CBS is $6.99/month with Commercials. Netflix is $17.99/month. I actually like ala-carte because I can stop paying for what I don't want to subscribe to any longer. I watch CBS right now for Star Trek Discovery. When that is over I will cancel my subscription to CBS.Hulu - $11.99
Netflix - $18.99
Youtube Premium - $9.99
AppleTV+ - $4.99
Prime - $12.99 a month
Disney+ - $6.99 a month
CBS - $9.99
HBO Max - $14.99
ESPN+ - $4.99
Showtime - $10.99
Starz - $8.99
Apple Music, $9.99
I think it's actually cheaper to just get Comcast and watch everything minus AppleTV & Netflix.
I only use it for myself too and I rarely watch stuff. I just canceled my account because I refuse to pay $20 a month for mediocre content. I can afford it, but it's just offensive.I use only one screen at time but expecting 4K resolution (what isn’t something extraordinary in 2020). Why Netflix cannot rebuild offer more radically?

IMO the basic plan should be 720p.
You raise a good point, I too also enjoyed the OA and was very disappointed that they canceled the show. There are other shows they canceled which I just don't understand why they did when the shows had a huge following. But this is a pattern not just with Netflix, even Network shows end up canceling shows after the 3 or 4 seasons and that if they are lucky. I come to terms that I should appreciate 1 season of a new series and not get my hopes up because it may get canceled. #SAVETHEOAI cancelled when they starting cancelling shows like The OA and Mindhunter.
I don’t get how they can justify raising the price when their current strategy is attract new people with new shoes then cancel that show after a season or two and without a proper ending.
Orange Is The New Black ended last year.Cmon bro. Really. I love Star Wars but your argument is the Mandalorian?
