£18/month for 4K HDR lmaooo

at least the standard 1080p hasn’t changed and still at £11/month. That’s the one I buy.

I’ll just keep doing what I do and only pay for a month when I think there is enough content to justify it then I’ll binge everything that month. I can easily go months without subbing.

Makes me appreciate Apple TV+ more. It has only original (all meat, no fillings), it is free with hardware purchase and even subs fee is less than 10 bucks.
Apple TV+ has no fillings for now. Give them time.

They've already started showing more ads on their app store as well as for MLS games.

Yeah Netflix doesn’t have the content to warrant these prices. I already cancelled and I’ll probably only pay for a month again when Stranger Things Season 5 comes out. I don’t see anything else that warrants those kind of prices.
Arcane season 2 in a year or so.

One can only hope there will be 2 tiers of AppleTV+ - free with ads support and paid like the current one.

It's looking as though Netflix is increasing prices on a certain schedule. They've been alternating between January and October price increase announcements since October 2017.

Oct 2015
Premium = $11.99/mo --> $11.99/mo

Oct 18, 2023
Premium = $19.99/mo --> $22.99/mo

So the premium price increased by 92% over the same timespan that inflation in the US increased 30%. If their content were significantly better, maybe I'd say OK but I don't think it is, there is so much garbage on Netflix now. Their home-grown "movies" are absolutely horrible.

Honestly I think Apple TV+ is the best deal in streaming right now, especially if you get it bundled with other services. Their library is much smaller than Netflix's, but the quality tends to be much higher. Foundation, Severance, Slow Horses, Silo, Ted Lasso, For All Mankind are all really good, and Monarch looks like it's going to be good too.

Netflix was not impacted by this strike. They have production in other countries as well.

You mean Netflix was impacted less than the other studios. They've had to pause production and push back release dates for a lot of shows and movies.

"Over the past 10 years, Netflix's subscription prices have almost double."

So how does that compare to prices of gasoline, housing, gas/electric utilities, paper, groceries, medical care, restaurant dining, etc?
