yeah....

IF this tethering works... maybe I should reconsider the 3G iPhone! I'd love to get rid of my home DSL... and go with just tethering for my MB's internet access. Then again, I'll wait to see if this really works, is easy, has good speeds, etc.

Not possible. It looks like mail and aim don't work, making it a useful, but not omnipotent internet connection. This would complement, not replace, a residential internet line.

Looks like AIM can be made to work, but yeah, seems there are some limitations.

Cha-ching!

All the confusion about the pull will turn into a gold mind for these guys.

NullRiver to Apple: "Thank you very much!"

This app is now appearing in the Mobile App Store on my iPhone 3G in the Productivity Category. Woot! :D

You know, this thing is just fine for general browsing an email and even downloading smaller files. I've actually used 3G phones to download TV show torrents (300MB +- files) and never had any problems with the telcos. (Downloading a bittorent file is generally no more data intensive than browsing vigorously for the same period of time.)

If you're on the road nobody will argue the fact that while email and browsing is great for a phone on the iPhone, it's still better on a full sized laptop. The simple fact is you are using the internet just as you would directly from the phone, so there is really no excuse or reason for Apple or AT&T to complain or prohibit you from using the data service that you are already being charged amply for.

I only have a problem with paying $10 for something that is free if you jail break (which is also free.) It also comes free on Windows Mobile phones. I don't know about Palm or Blackberry.

Has anyone tried to contact AT&T and see if this app will run up your bill?

I want it, and am willing to fork over the $10, but I'm not into having extremely large phone bills. Might just have to wait ~month and see what happens to the NetShare users bills.

Good luck with getting a educated answer. The general CSR at ATT don't know anything.

just think.... HOW much this pull and push back to the store will have a "viral" marketing effect... and how many customer will buy the app because of this!! :)

it comes with palm via DUN. It is like one of the only thing i miss about my treo.

Still nothing on my iPhone when I search for NetShare or NullRiver. How are folks on here getting it via their iPhone device? Thanks!

It's not my fault it was available for purchase on the App Store :)

But seriously -- is it in the contract we signed? Was there a "THOU SHALT NOT TETHER" commandment in there?

HOW CAN THIS BE LEGAL?!! It is no different than the jailbreak versions... I can see AT&T still slapping major fines and anyone who uses it... and now they can track who bought it!!

WARNING!!!
I guarantee that if a bill showed up you could just simply call ATT and tell them that you weren't aware of the charges and they would remove it. stop living in fear people!
Now the question is, do I really think i'd ever use this?
