Will someone please report if they were able to use the verified IPCC update AFTER updated the OS... meaning, those who had MMS/Tethering working prior to the update.

Thank you

i'm interested to see wether or not this blocks our nice little .ipcc fix from working.

i'd say it's really not worth it to me if i can no longer MMS and tether.
i don't think that there will be a skype "fix" it says on their app page in itunes store that calls work over 3g.

That's not actually true, what is says is

With Skype on your iPhone or iPod touch, simply sign into Skype from any WiFi zone, and call friends and fmaily on Skype totally free

There's obviously something on 3.o that is different that is causing it to work, but i very much doubt it is intentional or indeed that it will remain that way.

I got error 1611 from iTunes when I tried to update... so I had to restore. No biggie.

If this really is snappier as some have said, then I'll be thrilled :)

Upgraded

over 3gMMS still active, as is skype. Very responsive. Alos in the settings there is a new tab, that says store

Do version numbers reflect how much of a change there is? Can we get a listing of the new numbers compared to the old for each model?

I can confirm that the MMS and Tethering ipcc update still works on this release, at least on a UK O2 3G iPhone.

good to hear.
if apple fixed something, i wouldn't be surprised if it was att only.
they seem more likely to gripe about tethering than O2.
any word from att users?

Thats very true, you Yanks do seem to get stiffed by the Apple/Network relationship a lot more than the rest of us. Seems to be a bit of a double edged sword, there have been some really interesting things mentioned that att and apple are working on together, but having the ear that close to whisper into does seem to mean att getting everything they want at the expense, normally literally, of the customer.

I also still can't quite believe you guys have to pay to receive text messages!!!

That's what I was waiting for. Now I'll install

I'm somewhat new to the whole Apple fanboy sort of thing. Is this the way they operate with updates (especially to betas!)? No change log? That's surprising that the beta testers don't know what to look for ...

And on a side note, I've read the site for a while, but I'm new to the forums, so hi :apple::)

It does indeed seem a lot nippier than the previous version. Also i now appear to have a menu option in settings called "Store" that is empty that i hadn't noticed before?

Anyone find anything new yet? I know, stupid question, but I really want to know... Snappier?

I think it's actually impossible to detect if something is snappier, unless you have two iPhone's side by side running the SDK (or any firmware, with the same amount of apps, contacts, space left.. etc.). That's why I don't listen to those idiots that say, "Safari's snappier! ZOMGGGGG"
