Flash would make kill the battery and display those annoying animated ads. Sure, it'd be nice if they brought it over to the iPhone, but at least give us an option to turn it off and on so we aren't annoyed ALL the time by those ads.

Just installed iphone 3.0 beta 2. I noticed the one application I tested yesterday on 3.0 beta 1 that didn't work right, Wolf 3D. Now works. On the previous beta the sounds didn't play. now they play. I know. Small thing, but progress still.
Now to check whether my Alpine xda 100 recognizes this new beta...

Not on the original 3.0...I checked cause I need two accounts.
Waiting for my devs to get me the update so I can continue my testing and answer your question.

Updated an hour ago and been playing around with the OS and interface since.
My observations:
* Alot more snappier interface over all with no lagspikes when switching between the key apps back and forward, browsing web, writing sms.
* The SMS app is very improved from the buggy beta1. All of the several bugs that occured when switching from landscape to portrait is gone and a new "keaboard-fade" is taking place when rotating. The chat-bubbles now place themself in correct order and the written text isnt messed up.
* When picking a Picture to attach as a MMS, there is no a new screen where you see the picture in fullscreen and can choose Add or Cancel.
* There's a new entry under Settings beneth the Phone, iPod etc settings just called "store". It has no icon and it contains nothing in it.

So does this mean there will be more stuff to dig through and find by you guys? Ya know, the stuff deep down inside that's supposedley secret...and please keep the April Fool's Jokes to a minumum tomorrow.

I've been able to reproduce the following with OS 3.0 Beta 1 on at least two phones. Now fixed in Beta 2:
- Hitting 'Reply' when you receive a text message on the home screen allowed you to view the message but wouldn't bring up the keyboard. This now works.
- When sending an MMS, pressing the camera button, taking a photograph and pressing 'Use' gave a blank message. This now does attach the photo you've just taken.
- The phone wouldn't save modifications to the dictionary when cancelling autocorrect suggestions. Beta 2 now does save modifications to the dictionary.
- 3D applications (Monopoly, Bewelled) suffered from a few graphics glitches. Fixed.
Bugs Not Fixed:
- Still can't tether to Unibody MacBook Pro using Bluetooth.
- iPod application still (in my opinion) a little unstable.
- Still issues with YouTube app.
