I had heard that in the first beta that all of your apps get wiped clean. Was that true, and if so, is that still the case for beta 2? Thanks in advance.

we live on 2th generation internet. p2p is more efficient.
less overhead. my device is registered. nothing personal.

A none taken.. but I don't think you are going to find a p2p link here. Wouldn't bother asking. If your device is registered in the development then you should already be able to download it with out a hick up then.

I'd be interested to know how those crazy messages people sometimes send come in. For example one of those forwarded messages that contains an animated picture or still image a sound file and some text.

Also what happens if someone just sends you a video file.

notes sync worked for me now :)
on beta 1 notes were not synced to mail, now they are.

spotlight is still sluggish for me.

tethering works more stable for me, used to crash in beta 1 when itunes was open. works like a charm now.

c 'n' p is more precise when trying to select only one value out of a table in safari.

Does Spotlight need some time to index? Might be interesting to see how search times/lag is as time goes on to see if lag is the build, or partly any index not yet fully formed.

I've only had b2 for a few, but some things I have noticed

- SMS loads much faster than b1, still slower than 2.x
- Copy/Paste bug fixed in Safari text box (tested copying a tracking number from an email to ups.com tracking box on main page)
- I had a bug in mail where the swipe/delete wouldn't work. Delete box would pop up but sometimes it wouldn't delete. Haven't been able to replicate it although it didn't happen all the time w/b1 either.
- Scrolling left to spotlight is MUCH faster than before.
- The OS as a whole is definitely snappier than b1, but still lags in comparison to 2.2.1.

That's all I checked, will post more as I play around with it. Definitely an improvement, but definitely not there yet. Going to play around with A2DP now

I updated my iPhone 3G with Beta 2 and tethering over AT&T still works perfectly. I did not have to reapply the carrier update. I just updated through iTunes by opting-clicking the "Check for Update" button.

Does anyone have a link on instructions for setting up the tethering?

Beta 1 is getting annoying, and I really hope that beta 2 is less buggy. From the looks of things here, I'm optimistic. Interested to see how that keyboard fade thing looks.

When my phone was booting back up after updating, the screen came up to plug the phone into itunes, and the background was completely purple.

Anyone else get that?

Happened to my iPhone 3G as well. While in DFU mode the screen was purple, and so was the "Connect to iTunes" screen. Very odd.

2.2.1 upgrade to 3.0 B2? Worth it???

I "illegally" had 3.0 beta 1. I asked one of my friends who was a developer to add my udid to his list, but it was way too buggy. I went through that whole process of downgrading back to 2.2.1. and I was succesfull. Now after reading all these posts of the 2nd beta, do you think I should update to 3.0 B2? My iPhone is my primary and only phone, but I am a heavy emailer and texter and the landscape keyboard really made life easier. Also I would use MMS and from reading other posts it looks like in B2 it is functional. Please give me suggestions! And if you'r planning on just replying back, " YOU SHOULDNT BE USING BETA SOFTWARE UNLESS YOU PAY $99 IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!" please hold back. That's not my question. Is it worth it? Thanks!

+1, also is Calendar available in landscape flavor?

Its not available in landscape but you can now edit all details of an event already on your calendar. Both ones you created and invitations you accepted form someone else...

I wold say no, because it is still slow and you will not be happy.

Does anyone know when to expect application updates that don't yet work with 3.0 beta? Maybe this update will fix some of those trouble applications.
