It took me about 5 hours of connecting/disconnecting, charging/unplugging, and fiddling with it every 30 minutes to an hour or so. There was no one thing I did to cause it to finally update.
Mine finally updated yesterday evening. Who knows

Notify if left behind is borderless useless sadly. Will always tell me I've left them behind if I've been a place for some time even if they are with me. Also thought I had left them at the gym, when I didn't even bring them from home (which I was correctly notified about).

Version 4A400
OS 15.01

APP appear as APP - Find My
Notify when left behind (greyed out = not supported)?
Having done the APP reset - the aforementioned "greyed out - notify" now, no longer appears??

Search for "How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro" and do that. People are reporting that doing so enables the new features.
Yes I’ve done that already, thanks!
I’m hands on, but the average joe would never know about it until he looses the AirPods and someone tells him to use find my, to realise just then that it doesn’t work because he didn’t reset the AirPods to enable the feature.

Just apple being apple, a new feature and a new bug (or two)

I dont think so.. Its seems to be really no better than what it was, a gimmick.. You seem to have to be connected via BT for anything to function. If you are out of BT range, or turn BT off, the Airpods wont make a sound, or show up.. They dont seem to use the Find My network at all. Maybe Im missing something, or they are buggy.. But there is no way I am relying on this version of "findmy". I will keep an Airtag on it.
Well I just managed to find them at the party where I left them. Location was refreshing every few minutes even when I was miles away.

Yeh. I worked out that FindMy works on the phone. But both my Macs it doesn’t update unless the AirPods hook up to the phone via BT

would be cool inside the case
Like others have said, after the firmware update the Find My features didn’t work inside the case. I had to reset and remove my AirPods Pro and Max from my Bluetooth devices and re-connect to my iPhone before the Find My features started to work in the case (playing sounds and locating the devices).

My AirPods Pro showed the new firmware version, but did not show the new "Find" feature in the Find My app until I "Forgot this Device" and re-paired them to my iPhone. Now, the feature shows up.

I’m using 4A400 and iPhone 11 (15.0.2). I don’t get the new find feature despite re-pairing and resetting my AirPods Pro multiple times 😞

I also had to forget and re-add my AirPods Pro to get the new "Find" settings to show up.

I was hoping the latest round of updates fixed this, but it's still not showing the "Find My..." settings. I submitted a feedback on this and there are currently 10 similar reports.

Hi! Unfortunately I lost my AirPods Pro two weeks after this update was announced and released….

Is there any possibility IF another owner finds and updates them - that I could track them down? Or could Apple help me if I show the serial number from packaging / proof of purchase?

Before I could see the latest known location, but that disappeared to “no place was found” and nothing on the GPS/location app… :-(

Best regards, Anton.

Something interesting, I unpaired my AirPods Pro and paired it to my sons phone and the toggle for the find my network was available. It’s probably something that’s missing in the current beta.

I had an weird and interesting interaction with this feature regarding my new Series 7 Apple Watch, and my AirPods Pro Max yesterday. I went by my friend's home to show off my new watch. While I was at his house I pulled out my headphones, but they remind in the Apple bikini case. I stored them in my bag, and drove off for home.

About a half a mile from my friends house, my Apple Watch buzzed and chimed. The message told me I had left my headphones behind with an address that was my friend's house. I pulled over, and check my back. Nope, the headphones were with me in the car.

So forum users. What the heck happened here? I love the concept and would love to use this for my iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPad Pro. But, why the false alarm, and even if it wasn't false, why take so long to warn me.

P.S. I have an AirTag in my wallet, and would love to have it buzz me if I left home without it.

"Pro's" isn't an incorrect use of the possessive apostrophe, it's used in this context to indicate a contraction (i.e. "Pro" is a contraction of "Professional", like "didn't" for "did not"). Typically you don't indicate a contraction at the end of the word (e.g. you wouldn't bother writing Pro'), but pluralising it with an s justifies the use of the apostrophe. You could argue that "AirPods Pro" is actually a proper noun in itself and therefore isn't a contraction, but I still don't think you can say that "Pro's" is categorically wrong - certainly not in the same way that a grocers' apostrophe is.

tl;dr - the Grammar Police say "Move on, nothing to see here".
Don't buy it's a contraction . .. and it's inconsistent with common pluralization of the shortening of "professionals" which is "pros"

It's extending the allowable use of apostrophes for things like years (1800's) and acronyms (RBI's) to something that is neither a year nor an acronym.

The weirdest thing, all of a sudden the find my option came available on my pros.
