All the people speaking negatively on this, I supposed they'd prefer the boring old function keys over this?

I can afford this laptop, and I bought it. Sorry haters. Enjoy your Acers.

Hahaha what? Such a ridiculous comment. Nobody cares that you can afford to buy something. All it proves is that you don't like money and/or intelligent purchasing.

Absolutely, on an MBP with accessible HD and RAM and the capacity to go up to at least 64Gb. Otherwise it isn't Pro. I am sure it is cool and fun, but that isn't what most Pro's are looking for. Some people actually still use a computer for work and need one that provides a reasonable ROI.

If you have any doubts of Apple's intent, go back and watch the intro. Lot's of catchy IOS type touch bar apps. And notice they didn't show all the dongles needed to have enough space to work and communicate with devices you already have spent a fortune for.

AND none of this bodes well for what their concept of an updated Mac Pro would look like, should there ever be one.

People do get negative when their income gets attacked.

So, conversely, if you get Excited by the Ribbon emoji bar, you may want to get out more often.

So, conversely, if you get Angry by the Ribbon emoji bar, you may want to purchase something else. Or go outside, both work equally as well.

Nah, I prefer another "gimmick" so that my battery life is even less than what Apple lies about to begin with. Keep on going thinner, giving up battery space, and keep adding things that deplete the battery. Doesn't make sense to me.

I'll take my 2012 rMBP 15" over your new MBP any day!

Too funny and so true. It feels like you were being nice because there's a lot more cons to the new MacBook Pro than what you listed. Lol

And there we have it ladies & gentlemen. The Touch Bar has peaked in usefulness.

A pet goat would be more useful than the Touch Bar has so far proven to be.

A pet goat would be more useful than a lot of things, even for some lactose intolerant people.

I'll keep my 2015 rMBP with boring function keys.

Didn't take long for useless cr*p like this, pac-bar etc. to appear, and it just makes me hate the touch bar even more.

That explains why many pros are saying they like it.... oops, you're embarrassing yourself.

I'll bet most of those pros are not really pros. Don't confuse MS Office use with professional use. The reviews I read (which are not on MR BTW) are not happy at all. I'll bet everyone one of them are planning how to leave the Apple ecosystem. Certainly I am. Maybe not this year or next, but Pros see the handwriting on the wall. Apple does not want Pros, creative types, or any users that require top end performance. Anyone that wants to see this can see it, even Microsoft is trying to capitalize on it.

Here's the blunt truth - It's an underpowered, overpriced, and neutered laptop. I cannot for the life of me see why fan boys keep on making excuses for Apple :p.

It's actually quite hilarious to see, It's like If anyone says anything critical about Apple's direction they get offended like I just insulted their mother or something.

I feel like they really screwed us all over, I've been an Apple user for years and I recently switch because I'm tired of Apple's direction. I feel like Microsoft is really innovating more than Apple is at this point. Role reversal I guess? So I switched and I'm happy.

I know I'll get comments like "You don't have to buy it", well actually once you're tied to an ecosystem you might just have to buy it. Fortunate for me most apps are already available on Windows, so it was pretty much painless. Also I think Windows 10 has reached the same level of polish so it was a nice change.

-And mostly because that engineering effort was squandered on a gimmick. A better use of effort would have been a fatter version with heroic heat-sink effort for serious musicians and DITs: The best i7 available or a Xeon, a dedicated GPU and a big, fat, replaceable/swappable lithium ion battery, at least 2 USB 3, two USB C, SDHC/SDXC, DP or HDMI i/o, Thunderbolt 2, ethernet for us Dante users, 32 GB RAM minimum, a swappable 2.5" SSD media slot (secondary to the onboard "Flash memory) and a 15" or 17" anti-reflective-coated retina display. A keyboard like the mid-2015 Macbook Air, but a touchpad like the 2003 MacBook running Tiger. Oh, and the mag-safe connector with a thicker cable. All this, even if you must sacrifice every emoji in the OS. And a 10-year, full-replacement warranty, or you're a just another greenwasher.

The pressing of the "Fn" or Alt or Ctl key(s) -or the shift combo of some of these commands, and then poking whatever key meets your intended task.
