Boy Genius Report posts a supposed leak of Apple's forthcoming Black Friday sale items. Among the discounted items are iMacs ($101 off), MacBook Pros ($51-$101 off), iPod nanos ($11 off), and iPod touches ($21-$41 off). Also included are the Apple TV, AirPort products, Magic Mouse, iWork, and several other Apple and third-party accessories.

Last week, Boy Genius Report posted a possible leak of a promo e-mail from Apple, although there were serious doubts about its authenticity. The latest claim, however, at least offers a reasonable set of discounts in line with Apple's previous Black Friday sales.

this seems more plausible then the other one. Just to confirm one can't use the edu. discount AND the black friday deals, correct?

Those sales suck. Anything worth while would should be at least three times that. Not to mention that MBP are severely outdated and marked to receive upgrades (quad core cpus). Not worth buying anything from apple at those sale prices.

That is, unfortunately, correct. You cannot combine.

This is what I expected Apple to do this Friday. Ah well, I guess I'll wait a little while longer to get that MBP..... the education discount I can get is better than this.

so i take it you dont own any apple products since if apple products reduced to sale prices aren't good enough, surely apple products at regular price aren't good enough.

Those prices are nice!
I can only wish to live in USA, since here most of the computers are at least $300 + 5% tax. I still don't get why people in USA cry about the prices there. That people earn way more money compared to what other people in other counties does.
Apple prices today are more than competitive and offers a lower TCO than the rest of the industry using windows. Just enjoy black friday!

People may earn more money in the US, but it sure costs more to live.

Pretty wimpy discounts to say the least, but I guess when your stuff is selling well you don't have to slash prices much. :(

On a related note, you'll probably be able to get a Zune HD free with any $50 fragrance purchase this holiday season. :D

If this leak is real should I even bother waiting until Friday to order a uMBP 17"? I've been waiting to see what to expect on Black Friday, but it seems as if the discounts will be much less than that of the Education Store. I was gonna see if my Mother could find out if her government run institution has an EPP program - but she's never mentioned one for Apple although she has for Dell, so I think waiting until Friday with the hope of her finding out about that so I could stack the EPP discount with the Apple BF sale discount is silly. Any input for me?

I guess I'm not going to do any better than a refurbish Mac Mini even though I could use an education discount on a new machine?

$98 for MS Office home & student? Can I do better than that?

Now with these discounts is that on retail cost only or have you in the past been able to apply them on top of education/corporate discounts?

Sometimes it drops that low on Amazon.... but right now it's at $105.49. However, no sales tax on Amazon, so $105 is probably < $98+tax.

Not stackable. This has been addressed. Read the thread.

Lower TCO... :D I have had just as many hardware problems with all my macs as I used to have with my PCs, and in general, the replacement parts for the macs are a lot more. The OS on the other hand, that is what keeps me coming back.

But hey, you gotta pay to play as the saying goes. That is what we get for owning the Ferrari of computers. :D

If this is correct I'd simply use your education discount. These prices aren't very "enticing".
