Well, in all fairness, it is not that evident on the regular Apple site... I think it is more noticeable on the phone apple store app, but I ordered from the desktop site, where you would have to scroll all the way below questions and answers and suggested products to find tiny fine gray print that addresses color change. So... for me, I didn't see the warning until I got my case in the mail and read the back of the box.
It turned out okay, since I ordered black, but if I can see why people like Alan who ordered the lighter color were surprised.
So, it's not in this section:

That is definitely too far down the page if you ask me. In putting it there, it's seems as though they are trying to hide it. And when people complain, they can still say: "Well it's on the product page. It's not our fault you didn't read it."
