I am sick of hearing from Craig that they haven’t released Siri because it hasn’t met their high standards. If their standards were so high, why did they let it languish for so long in the state where everyone was complaining about it on all their devices? I don’t buy that. If they would go ahead and release it, we probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Just release it already and then go ahead and release everything that’s being held up by it.

I don't mind waiting for the HomePod mini. Hope that when it comes out it will work for FaceTime on Mac, this would be such a perfect combo with the Mac mini

A speakers main function is to play music! What is there to upgrade? And the Apple TV with all its BS just plays movies and shows, so again, what's the upgrade for? I rather apple fix its "AirPlay" so it stops dropping music coming from my Mac.

great.
More guess along with Gurman stories about an impending HomePod and AppleTV launch probably monthly from now until it actually does launch.

Dear Apple, I'm not buying and Apple TV based of what you say Siri can do on it ( not holding my breath for anything Siri). Please just release the product, and don't use the oldest processor that supports AI that would be terrible thing to do its almost like planned obsolescence given how often you release these things.

It’s overkill for a HomePod mini, but I think they’ll either require a newly designed chip that’s Apple Intelligence-capable (maybe they introduce an I1 or something for a range of smart home devices that’s more optimized for efficiency in products that are largely static until activated by the user), or use an A18 Pro. I don’t think a watch chip is going to cut it.

Perhaps your request at the end is related?

(hardware spec bumps for better and more consistent performance of things like AirPlay)

Nothing surprising. The new Apple TV has been "imminent" since 2023.

Yea, Apple TV is a bit old... But it does everything well, maybe that's why they're not in a rush. I'd get a new one after 4-5 years maybe for even better performance if that's possible.

It's OK. My Apple TV HD that I purchased in the Fall of 2015 runs the newest tvOS, and is still working like a champ. It has never let me down. I won't mind keeping it around for more years.

But to be fair, I do use it with the newest Siri Remote (3rd generation).

I’m ready for a new Mac Mini but was waiting to see if they would release an M5 version. I’ll hold out a little longer, but I‘m going to need it sooner rather than later.

Well, they could...
  • Add ethernet so that you don't need it on your wifi network.
  • Add bluetooth as an input source so you don't need Airplay.
  • Make Siri functional (haha)
  • Upgrade the internal chips and design so it has better Wifi reception and processing power
  • Make the touch screen a jog wheel so it's easier to adjust the volume on it
  • Update the model number so people buying today wouldn't be worried it will be discontinued and EOL'd in just a year or two.

By the time the new Apple TV is released it should have the A19 Chip.
If it launches this year, which at this point would seem likely, I would doubt it will have the A19, given it is higher powered than the A18 Pro chip they gave MacBook Neo.
